[3.A. COVID-19 Response Update]
RESPONSE UPDATE, WHICH WILL BE LED BY DR. SHARON DAVIS, DR. SHAWNDA FLOYD AND DR. BEATRIZ JOSEPH.PERLA, IF YOU COULD TO THE NEXT SLIDE, PLEASE.
I WANT TO GIVE YOU AN OVERVIEW OF WHAT WE'VE BEEN DOING IN THE CRITICAL RESPONSE OFFICE.
IN THIS SLIDE KIND OF SHOWS YOU A TIMELINE OF SOME OF THE KEY DATES THAT HAVE HAPPENED WITH REGARDING THE CRITICAL RESPONSE OFFICE.
BUT ACTUALLY, THE WORK OF THE CRITICAL RESPONSE OFFICE STARTED IN MARCH WHEN WE WENT REMOTE.
BACK IN MARCH WHEN WE DECIDED TO PUT ALL CLASSES ONLINE, THE LEADERSHIP TEAM
[00:05:03]
STARTED WORKING ON WORK THAT WOULD REQUIRE, THAT WAS NEEDED SO WE COULD PREPARE TO COME BACK.THIS OFFICE BEGAN ON JUNE 12 WHEN I STARTED IN THIS ROLE AS A CHIEF CRITICAL RESPONSE OFFICER.
PRIOR, WE HAVE BROUGHT BACK EMPLOYEES AND STUDENTS JUNE 8.
AND THEN PHASE THREE, WHICH STARTED ON MONDAY OF THIS WEEK.
AS WE PREPARE TO BRING BACK EMPLOYEES AND STUDENTS, WE KNEW WE HAD TO PREPARE OUR FACILITIES.
WHAT WE HAVE DONE IS WE HAVE STARTED CLEANING THE HIGH-TOUCH AREAS AT A MINIMUM OF EVERY TWO HOURS.
WE HAVE OUR CONTRACTED VENDORS WHO CLEAN THOSE AREAS SUCH AS HAND RAILS, DOORKNOBS, RESTROOMS, ON A REGULAR BASIS.
ADDITIONALLY, WE HAVE ADJUSTED OUR HVAC SYSTEM SO WE'RE BRINGING IN MORE FRESH AIR AND INCREASING OUR HUMIDITY.
THIS HELPS IF SOMEONE DOES HAVE THE VIRUS AND THEY COUGH OR SNEEZE WITHOUT COVERING, THIS HELPS IT TO DIE IMMEDIATELY.
WE INSTALLED OVER ONE THOUSAND SIGNAGE THROUGHOUT DALLAS COLLEGE.
WE HAVE SIGNAGE IN RESTROOMS AS YOU CAN SEE BY THIS PHOTO, WE HAVE SIGNAGE IN HALLS AND ENTRY POINTS.
IT'S ENCOURAGING INDIVIDUALS TO REMAIN SOCIAL DISTANCING AND ENCOURAGING INDIVIDUALS TO WEAR THEIR MASK.
THIS PARTICULAR SIGN ON THIS PHOTO HAS THE STEPS THAT WE'RE REQUIRING FOR WASHING YOUR HANDS.
AND WE'RE ENCOURAGING INDIVIDUALS TO WASH HANDS FOR AT LEAST 20 SECONDS.
THESE ARE SOME OF THE PREPARATIONS THAT WE'VE DONE FOR OUR FACILITIES.
ADDITIONALLY, WE'RE CONTINUING TO UTILIZE THE THREE STANDING HAND SANITIZER STATIONS WITH AT LEAST 60% ALCOHOL.
THIS SHOULD BE USED WHEN YOU ARE NOT ABLE TO WASH YOUR HANDS.
WE'RE ENCOURAGING PEOPLE TO WASH HANDS AS OFTEN AS POSSIBLE.
WE'VE EVALUATED WOK IN OUR LEARNING AREAS AND MAXIMIZED MAXIMUM CAPACITY.
THEY WERE SET IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE FIRE MARSHAL PRIOR TO COVID.
WITH COVID, WE ALLOW FOR SOCIAL DISTANCING IN CLASSROOMS AND WORK AREAS.
WE'VE DESIGNATED ENTRY AND EXIT POINTS.
WHERE BY LIMITING THE PLACES INDIVIDUALS CAN COME IN AND EXIT OUR FACILITIES.
WE'VE ALSO PURCHASED PLEXIGLASS BARRIERS FOR ANY OF THE OTHERS THAT WILL HAVE FACE-TO-FACE MEETINGS WITH STUDENTS OR OTHER INDIVIDUALS.
THESE PLEXIGLASS BARRIERS ARE MOBILE BARRIERS UTILIZED FOR ADVISING, LIBRARY, TESTING CENTERS.
IN PREPARING THE PEOPLE TO RETURN TO WORK AND RETURN BACK TO THE CAMPUS LOCATIONS, WE HAVE HEALTH MONITORING SELF-SCREENING APPLICATION.
DEPARTMENT WAS ABLE TO PARTNER WITH APN SO WE HAVE PURCHASED APN APP AND HAD IT MODIFIED TO MEET OUR NEEDS.
SELF-SCREENING IS TAKING PLACE WITH ALL STUDENTS AND ALL EMPLOYEES.
WE ALSO HAVE REQUIRED BACK TO CAMPUS TRAINING FOR STUDENTS AND STAFF.
WE'RE REQUIRING FACE COVERING OF EVERYONE WHO ENTERRESS ENTERS OUR FACILITIES AND IF YOU ARE IN THE PRESENCE OF ANYONE, WHETHER THAT BE IF THEY ARE WITHIN SIX FEET OR OUTSIDE OF SIX FEET, WE REQUIRE YOU TO WEAR THE FACE COVERING WHEN ENTERING THE FACILITY.
IF WALKING DOWN THE HALL, WE REQUIRE A FACE COVERING.
WE'RE MANDATED MANDATING SOCIAL DISTANCING, AND CREATING A WEBPAGE WITH RESOURCES FOR STUDENTS AND STAFF TO UTILIZE.
SOME OF THE CHANGES THAT WE HAVE MADE FOR EMPLOYEES AND STUDENTS, WE ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGING EMPLOYEES TO EAT THEIR MEALS AT WORK STATIONS.
AND WE HAVE DESIGNATED LARGE SPACES WHERE EMPLOYEES CAN EAT MEALS ALSO.
WE HAVE ELIMINATING FOOD DELIVERIES PRIOR TO COVID, WE WOULD HAVE MANY DOOR DASH
[00:10:03]
AND UBER EATS VEHICLES COMING IN AND OUT OF THE FACILITIES.WE'VE ELIMINATED THAT FOR THE TIME BEING AND LIMITED THE NUMBER OF INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE AT OUR WORK SITES.
WE HAVE IMPLEMENTED WHAT WE'VE TERMED THE ABC SCHEDULING.
EMPLOYEES ARE WORKING ON SITE FOR ONE WEEK AND REMOTELY FOR TWO.
THE NEXT WEEK, THE B SCHEDULE COMES IN AND DOES THE SAME AND SO FORTH.
THIS LIMITS THE NUMBER OF INDIVIDUALS AT THE WORK SITE WHICH ALLOWS TO CONTINUE WITH SOCIAL DISTANCING.
WE HAVE ALSO LIMITED THE OCCUPANCY ALLOWED IN SPECIFIC AREAS.
WE TALKED ABOUT EARLIER WE'VE LIMITED THE MAXIMUM OCCUPANCY IN WORK AREAS AND CLASSROOMS. WE'VE ALSO LIMITED A OCCUPANCY IN RESTROOMS, ELEVATORS, STAIRWELLS AND HALLS.
AND THERE IS SIGNAGE THAT DESIGNATE THE LIMITED CAPACITY FOR THESE AREAS.
WE'VE ELIMINATED ANY TYPES OF ACTIVITIES THAT CAN LEAD TO CONGREGATING, INCLUDING DANCES OR PLAYS, STUDENT LIFE TYPE OF ACTIVITIES THAT WOULD LEAD TO INDIVIDUALS CONGREGATING.
SOME OF THE THINGS THAT WE'VE PUT IN PLACE FOR EMPLOYEES WHO CANNOT RETURN TO THE WORKPLACE IS INABILITY TO RETURN TO THE WORKPLACE PROCESS EMPLOYEES COMPLETE AN ONLINE FORM AND DESIGNATE WHY THEY CANNOT RETURN TO THE WORKPLACE, BE THEY HAVE A CHILDCARE CONCERN OR CARING FOR SOMEONE OR THEY MAY NOT JUST FEEL SAFE IN COMING BACK TO THE WORKPLACE.
WHEN AN EMPLOYEE COMPLETES THE INABILITY TO RETURN TO THE WORKPLACE PROCESS, THEY ARE COMPLETING A REMOTE WORK AGREEMENT, BETWEEN THE EMPLOYEE AND SUPERVISOR THAT SPECIFIES THE WORK THE EMPLOYEE WILL DO WHILE REMAINING WORKING REMOTELY.
IT ALSO HAS REQUIREMENTS FOR EMPLOYEES TO PROVIDE THE DOCUMENTATION THAT SUPPORTS THEIR INABILITY TO RETURN TO THE WORKPLACE.
>> SHARON, I APOLOGIZE, THIS IS SHERRY ENRIGHT.
CONVERSATIONS IN THE EXECUTIVE SESSION WITH RESPECT TO TO THE INABILITY TO RETURN TO THE WORKPLACE.
I WANTED TO LET THE COMMITTEE KNOW, WE'RE USING THE GUIDELINES SET FORTH BY THE CDC.
A EMPLOYEE MIGHT SUBMIT THE FORM STATING THEY CANNOT RETURN TO WORK BECAUSE OF CHILDCARE.
WE GO THROUGH A VETTING PROCESS, THE EMPLOYEE GETS A 14-DAY CONDITIONAL APPROVAL.
THOSE FORMS ARE VETTED THROUGH THE HUMAN RESOURCES DEPARTMENT, AND DOCUMENTATION IS REQUESTED.
THE EMPLOYEE CANNOT PROVIDE DOCUMENTATION, THEN WE BEGIN TO WORK WITH THEM ON WHAT TYPE OF LEAVE THEY HAVE.
I WANTED TO CLARIFY, THERE IS DOCUMENTATION BEING REQUESTED FOR EACH OF THOSE CATEGORIES.
AND IT'S SIMPLY, YOU KNOW, EMPLOYEE WHO DOESN'T FEEL SAFE TO RETURN HAS TO HAVE A RATIONAL BASIS AND SUBMIT DOCUMENTATION BEFORE WE GET TO THAT REMOTE WORK AGREEMENT WHICH SETS FORTH VERY SPECIFIC THINGS AROUND EXPECTATIONS AND COMMUNICATION TIMEFRAMES AND SUPERVISION AND THINGS OF THAT NATURE.
THAT WHOLE PROCESS, THE INABILITY TO RETURN AND THE REMOTE AGREEMENT, THAT PROCESS IS MANAGED BY OUR HUMAN RESOURCES OFFICE.
>> CHAIR D FLORES: I IMAGINE THE INFORMATION IS AVAILABLE THROUGH DIFFERENT MEDIA MEDIUMS, EMAIL, WEBSITE, ET CETERA?
>> IT IS AVAILABLE ON THE WEBSITE.
WE'VE ALSO COMPLETED A COVID-19 PLAYBOOK, WHICH WE'LL BE SENDED OUT A LINK TO EMPLOYEES, WHICH HAS THESE FORMS.
DR. JOSEPH IS GOING TO TALK ABOUT STUDENT CASE.
>> GOOD AFTERNOON, THANK YOU, DR. DAVIS.
FOR STUDENT SUCCESS, FOR STUDENT SUCCESS AREAS RETURNED ON JULY 13TH, THE REMAINING AREAS HAVE RETURNED TO WORK THIS WEEK, AUGUST 3RD.
AND WE'RE STARTING TO SET UP ADVISING FACE-TO-FACE APPOINTMENTS STARTING TOMORROW.
BUT ONE OF THE IMPORTANT THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND, THE REASON WE'RE ASKING FOR SOME OF THESE AREAS TO HAVE APPOINTMENTS IS BECAUSE WE NEED -- WE HAVE A LOT OF DALLAS PROMISE AND FDIC STUDENTS WHO NEED ASSISTANCE IN THE REGISTRATION PROCESS.
[00:15:03]
THEY HAVE DIFFICULT A COMPLETING THE ENROLLMENT PROCESS AND THEY NEED FACE TO FACE INTERACTION.IN TERMS OF ATHLETICS, THE SEASON HAS BEEN POSTPONED TO SPRING 2020.
SO WE'LL NOT HAVE ANY SPORTS THIS FALL TERM.
TESTING CENTERS WILL OPEN AT THE END OF AUGUST TO SEE STUDENTS WHO HAVE SCHEDULED APPOINTMENTS.
AND STUDENT LIFE IS CONTINUING TO ENGAGE STUDENTS IN A DIFFERENT WAY, KEEPING IN MIND PREDOMINANTLY OUR ONLINE ENVIRONMENT.
THOSE ARE THE THINGS WE'RE DOING IN STUDENT SUCCESS TO ABIDE TO OUR NEW NORMAL.
>> AND DR. FLOYD WILL TALK ABOUT THE INSTRUCTIONAL.
IN ACADEMIC AFFAIRS, WE'VE BEEN BRINGING A STEADY AMOUNT OF CLASSES BACK TO FACE-TO-FACE INSTRUCTION.
THIS SLIDE SHOWS THE INCREASE FROM SPRING, WE HAD 135 SECTIONS MOSTLY IN THE AREA OF CTE.
THAT IS STEADILY INCREASING, WE OFFER 694 FACE-TO-FACE COURSES DURING THE SUMMER.
WE HAVE ABOUT 700 FACE-TO-FACE SECTIONS FOR THE FALL, THAT IS UP TO ABOUT 1300 AS WE CONTINUE TO REFINE AND STRATEGICALLY PLAN FOR THE RETURN TO CAMPUS.
WE'RE NOT JUST OUR LABS AND CTE SKILL BASED COURSES BUT FOR EVEN SOME OF OUR COURSES THAT ARE IN TRADITIONAL TRANSFER AREAS, PROVIDING THE SUPPORT THAT WE KNOW OUR STUDENTS NEED IN A FACE-TO-FACE MANNER.
WE'LL BEGIN ON AUGUST 24TH, TO OFFER ACADEMIC SUPPORTS TO OUR STUDENTS BY WAY OF TUTORING SERVICES, LIBRARY SERVICES, AND ALSO COMPUTER LABS.
BECAUSE WE KNOW THAT'S BEEN A BEEN CONCERN DURING THIS TIME, THE LACK OF STUDENT'S ABILITY TO ACCESS THE RIGHT TECHNOLOGY REQUIREMENTS THEY NEED AND SO WE'LL BE PROVIDING COMPUTER LAB SPACE AS OF AUGUST 24 -- OCTOBER 24.
WE'RE WORKING WITH OUR ISD PARTNERS TO MAKE SURE WE HAVE THE SPACE AVAILABLE, NOT ONLY PURSUANT TO OUR REQUIREMENTS WE HAVE FOR COVID AND RETURN TO CAMPUS, BUT MAKING SURE WE'RE FOLLOWING THEIR REQUIREMENTS AS WELL.
AND SORT OF ALIGNING THOSE SIDE BY SIDE FOR THOSE P-TECHS AND ACADEMICS WE HAVE ON OUR CAMPUSES AT DIFFERENT LOCATIONS.
SO THESE ARE THE THINGS WE'VE -- YEAH?
>> CHAIR D FLORES: DR. FLOYD, FOR THE P-TECH AND EARLY COLLEGE STUDENTS, WHILE THEY ARE ISD MAY-- THEIR -- MAY REQUIRE IN-PERSON CLASSES, FOR THE CLASSES THEY TAKE WITH US, IT'S VIRTUAL, IS THAT CORRECT?
MOST OF THEIR CLASSES WILL BE VIRTUAL FOR THE CLASSES -- OUR INSTRUCTORS.
AND WE HAVE THOSE DATES IN ACCORDANCE WITH OUR CALENDAR.
THERE ARE SOME INSTRUCTORS THAT TEACH OUR P-TECH AND DUAL CREDIT STUDENTS THAT ARE AT THEIR LOCATION.
THEY WILL HAVE THOSE COURSES FACE-TO-FACE.
>> CHANCELLOR MAY: AND I MIGHT JUST, IF I COULD, PUT THIS IN CONTEXT.
THAT NORMALLY WE OFFER ABOUT 15,000 COURSES DURING A SEMESTER TERM.
IT KIND OF GIVES YOU THE SCALE, STILL RELATIVELY SMALL AMOUNT FACE-TO-FACE.
AND CHAIR FLORES, TO YOUR QUESTION, WE ARE MONITORING BECAUSE QUITE HONESTLY, THE ISD'S HAVE BEEN UNDER MORE SPECIFIC, I GUESS, STATE GUIDANCE THAN HAS HIGHER EDUCATION.
AND SO FOR A WHILE, THEY WERE NOT GOING TO GET FUNDED, FOR EXAMPLE, FOR ONLINE CLASSES.
AND THAT'S FOR THE TIME BEING OKAY.
BUT WE'RE REALLY PREPARED AT ANY TIME SHOULD THE STATE ELECT TO SHIFT AGAIN OR GO SOME OTHER DIRECTION FOR THAT.
AND CERTAINLY, WE'VE SEEN LOTS OF EVIDENCE THAT WHAT THE GUIDANCE ARE GIVEN ONE WEEK CAN BE OVERTURNED THE NEXT.
WE'RE -- THIS IS NOT -- THIS IS WHERE WE ARE TODAY, NOT NECESSARILY WHERE WE MAY BE NEXT WEEK WITH THESE EFFORTS.
AND DR. FLOYD, IS THAT ACCURATE ON THAT?
>> THAT IS ABSOLUTELY CORRECT.
AND THAT'S WHY WE MONITOR DAY-TO-DAY AND HAVE MEETINGS WITH ISD WEEKLY TO GET UPDATES.
>> CHAIR D FLORES: THEY ARE IN A DIFFICULT SITUATION BECAUSE IT IS A MOVING TARGET.
I'M GLAD WE DON'T HAVE TO DEAL WITH THAT DYNAMIC.
TO MAKE SURE I UNDERSTAND, WE WILL BE OFFERING IN PERSON LIBRARY TUTORING
[00:20:01]
CENTER AND COMPUTER LAB OPPORTUNITIES?>> YES, BEGINNING ON AUGUST 24.
>> CHAIR D FLORES: BUT OF COURSE, FOLLOWING ALL OF THE WHAT DR. DAVIS SHARED, THE PROTOCOL.
WE'RE GRATEFUL TO DR. DAVIS AND THE FACILITY'S TEAM.
WE CAN'T SAY ENOUGH GOOD ABOUT THE QUALITY OF THE WORK THEY HAVE DONE, IN TERMS OF GOING ON, SIZING OUT THE SPACE TO MAKE SHEER WE HAVE THE SIX-FEET REQUIREMENTS, THE CLEANING ROUTINES.
WE'RE PREPARED TO BE IN THAT SPACE AND TO HAVE OUR STUDENTS JOIN US IN A SAFE ENVIRONMENT WHERE WE CAN SUPPORT THEIR LEARNING.
>> CHAIR D FLORES: THANK YOU, AND DR. DAVIS AND YOUR TEAM.
JUST TO PIGGYBACK ON WHAT DR. FLOYD SAID, FOR THE LIBRARY, TUTORING CENTERS AND COMPUTER LABS, WE'LL DO BLOCK SCHEDULING.
STUDENTS HAVE TO SCHEDULE APPOINTMENTS.
AND WE HAVE AQUILINING PROTOA CLEANING PROTOCOL AFTER EACH BLOCK LEAVES.
>> M BRAVO: DR. DAVIS, I KNOW YOU SAID THAT FACE COVERINGS ARE REQUIRED, SOCIAL DISTANCING MANDATED, IS THERE SOMEONE ENFORCING THIS? OR MONITORING PEOPLE ARE WEARING THE FACE COVERINGS THE WHOLE TIME?
WE HAVE WHAT WE -- AND IF YOU GO TO THE NEXT SLIDE, I'LL TALK A LITTLE BIT.
WE HAVE WHAT WE'RE CALLING, WELCOME ASSISTANCE.
AND THEY ARE HELPING US MONITOR INDIVIDUALS WEARING THEIR FACE COVERINGS.
THEY ARE WORKING OUT ENTRY POINTS.
BUT THEY ARE ALSO WORKING AROUND OUR CAMPUSES AND LOOKING AND HELPING REMIND PEOPLE IF THEY DON'T HAVE ON FACE COVERINGS, THEY NEED ONE.
THEY ARE REMINDING THEM TO SOCIAL DISTANCING IF THEY SEE PEOPLE NOT SOCIAL DISTANCING.
>> M BRAVO: DO WE HAVE THE ABILITY TO PROVIDE A MASK IF THEY DO NOT HAVE ONE OR TURN THEM AWAY?
>> NO, WE HAVE DISPOSAL MASKS WE'LL PROVIDE TO INDIVIDUALS WHO FORGET OR DON'T HAVE ONE.
>> SOME OF THE SPECIFIC THINGS, SELECTIVE ACCOMPLISHMENTS OF THE CRITICAL RESPONSE OFFICE ARE WE DO HAVE ONLINE COVID-19 REPORTING PROCESS.
IF AN EMPLOYEE OR A STUDENT OR A CONTRACTOR OR SOMEONE TESTS POSITIVE, THEY HAVE A WAY OF GOING ONLINE AND LETTING US KNOW THAT.
AFTER THAT IS DONE, WE DO A PULSE POSITIVE INVESTIGATION AND FIND OUT WHERE THEY WERE AND WHO THEY HAD CONTACT WITH.
SO WE CAN FOLLOW-UP WITH THOSE INDIVIDUALS AND LET THEM KNOW THEY MAY NEED TO SELF QUARANTINE OR SEE A HEALTHCARE PROFESSIONAL.
WE STARTED WORKPLACE SEMINARS PRIOR TO GROUPS COMING BACK.
WE FOUND IN JUNE WITH THE SUBJECT MATTER EXPERTS FOR THE JUNE CLASSES, ONCE WE PROVIDED INFORMATION ABOUT THE THINGS DONE TO MITIGATE RISKS AND IMPROVE OUR WORKPLACE, IT PUT PEOPLE AT EASE.
WE'VE CONTINUED TO DO THE WORKPLACE SEMINARS, PRIOR TO BRINGING GROUPS BACK TO LET THEM KNOW WHAT WE'VE DONE AND PROCESSES WE HAVE IN PLACE.
I MENTIONED WE HAVE UPDATED THE COVID-19 PLACEBOOK AND MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A LINK TO THAT AFTER IT'S BEEN WE'VE ALSO DEVELOPED AN ONLINE VISITOR'S ACKNOWLEDGMENT FORUM BECAUSE NOT EVERYONE WHO NEEDS TO COME TO THE COLLEGE WILL BE AN EMPLOYEE OR COMMUNITY -- STUDENT OR CONTRACTOR.
FOR VISITORS, WE ASK THEY SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT AND DO THE SCREENING WE DO AND ANSWER THE QUESTIONS, LET US KNOW THEY ARE SAFEB TO BE ON OUR CAMPUSES.
WE'VE HIRED AND TRAINED THE WELCOME ASSISTANCE.
THE INDIVIDUALS THAT I MENTIONED EARLIER.
WHO ARE DOING THE CHECK-IN OF THE APP, AND MAKING SURE PEOPLE REMAIN AT A SAFE DISTANCE AND WEAR THEIR FACIAL COVERING.
WE'RE UTILIZING CDC PROTOCOLS AT ALL DALLAS COLLEGE KEDGE LOCATIONS, AND FOR INSTITUTIONS OF HIGHER EDUCATION.
THOSE ARE THE PROTOCOLS WE UTILIZE TO GOVERN THE ACTIONS WE TAKE.
PRIOR TO OPENING UP TO QUESTIONS, I WOULD LIKE TO SAY THAT THE CRITICAL RESPONSE OFFICE HAS A CROSS FUNCTIONAL TEAM OF INDIVIDUALS AND THERE IS EVERYONE THAT IS PROBABLY ON THE CHANCELLOR LEADERSHIP TEAM ALSO SUPPORTS OUR EFFORTS FROM HR TO I.T.
TO LEGAL TO FACILITIES TO BUSINESS OPERATIONS.
I JUST WANTED TO MAKE SURE EVERYONE REALIZES IT'S NOT JUST MYSELF AND -- I HAVE
[00:25:05]
INDIVIDUALS WORKING WITH ME AS LIAISONS.INDIVIDUALS WORKING WITH ME DIRECTLY.
AND IT TAKES ALL OF US TO MAKE IT WORK.
ARE THERE ANY OTHER QUESTIONS WE CAN ANSWER FOR YOU?
>> M BRAVO: I DON'T SEE ANY HANDS RAISED.
DO ANY TRUSTEES HAVE ANY QUESTIONS?
>> D ZIMMERMANN: YES, IF I MIGHT.
DO WE HAVE ANY KIND OF A -- SHOULD WE SAY A LIABILITY STATEMENT, SOMETHING ALONG THE LINES THAT WITH YOU BEING ON THE CAMPUS, WE'VE DONE EVERYTHING WE CAN? IS THERE SOMETHING...
JUST THE IDEA SINCE YOU ARE ON THE CAMPUS, YOU ARE ACCEPTING THE RESPONSIBILITY OF MAKING SURE YOU KEEP YOURSELF SAFE BECAUSE WE'VE DONE EVERYTHING WE CAN.
IS THERE ANY KIND OF LEGALESE WE COULD DO JUST TO PERHAPS MITIGATE ANY KIND OF LITIGATION?
>> THANK YOU, TRUSTEE ZIMMERMANN.
DR. DAVIS REFERENCED THE ACKNOWLEDGMENT FORMS WE'RE UTILIZING AND WE DEVELOPED THOSE IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE CRITICAL RESPONSE OFFICE.
THEY CONTAIN LANGUAGE THAT THE SIGNER AND, THAT'S THE STUDENT AND EMPLOYEE OR CONTRACTOR THAT COMES ONTO OUR FACILITIES AND VISITORS WHO IS NONE OF THOSE, ACKNOWLEDGES RESPONSIBILITIES UNDER THE COVID-19 PROTOCOLS.
WE HAVE A ROBUST ACKNOWLEDGMENT FORM THAT MAKES PEOPLE AWARE OF THEIR OBLIGATIONS.
WE DON'T GUARANTEE THAT WE CAN KEEP ANYBODY SAFE FROM THE VIRUS BECAUSE THEY ARE OUT AND ABOUT NOT ONLY ON OUR CAMPUS BUT ELSEWHERE.
WE HAVE A ROBUST ACKNOWLEDGMENT FORM.
>> M BRAVO: ANY OTHER QUESTIONS FROM ANY TRUSTEES? THANK YOU SO MUCH TO DR. DAVIS, DR. JOSEPH AND DR. FLOYD FOR A VERY INFORMATIVE AND CONCISE PRESENTATION.
WE'RE GOING TO MOVE ON TO THE NEXT ITEM.
[4.A. Committee Notes]
WHICH ARE THE COMMITTEE NOTES FROM THE EDUCATIONAL WORKFORCE COMMITTEE MEETING ON MARCH THE 3RDAND ALSO ON JUNE THE 2ND, ARE THERE ANY COMMENTS ON EITHER ONE OF THOSE COMMITTEE MEETINGS? OKAY.I SEE NO COMMENTS OR HANDS RAISED BY ANY TRUSTEES.
WE DO NOT NEED AN EXECUTIVE SESSION IN THIS MEETING.
>> MONICA? IT'S FILL -- PHIL RITTER.
>> P RITTER: IT REFLECT ME AS BOTH PRESENCE AND ABSENT ON MARCH 3RD.
AND I WAS NOT PRESENT THAT DAY.
SO I NEED TO BE STRICKEN AS BEING PRESENT.
>> M BRAVO: THANK YOU FOR CATCHING THAT, MS. MOLINA, CAN YOU MAKE THE CHANGE? I'M GOING TO INTERPRET THAT AS A YES.
ANY OTHER COMMENTS ON EITHER ONE OF THE COMMITTEE NOTES? NO OTHER COMMENTS? SO NO EXECUTIVE SESSION IS NEEDED AT THIS TIME.
[6. Adjournment]
SO I'M GOING TO GO AHEAD AND ADJOURN THE EDUCATION AND WORKFORCE COMMITTEE MEETING.THE EDUCATION WORKFORCE COMMITTEE MEETING HAS BEEN ADJOURNED.
