WE'VE GIVING STUDENTS ALL THE WAY TO THE END OF THE FALL SEMESTER TO GET THE [00:20:03] ORANGE COMPLETED FOR THE CLASSES. THAT'S A TEMPORARY MODIFICATION TO THAT POLICY. WE MADE A DECISION ABOUT GIVING LETTER GRADES RATHER THAN GOING WITH A PASS/FAIL OPTION. FOR ONE BASIC REASON IN CONSULTATION WITH THE ACADEMIC VICE PRESIDENT AND FACULTY AND WITH THE ENTIRE STUDENT ACADEMIC SUCCESS TASK FORCE WE CONCLUDED THERE OPTION OF PASS/FAIL WAS NOT IN THE BEST INTEREST OF STUDENTS ACADEMICALLY. FOR EXAMPLE, STUDENTS IN DUAL ENROLLMENT CLASSES, VETERAN STUDENTS AND VARIOUS INDUSTRY CREDENTIALED LIKE THOSE IN NURSING ALL DEPEND ON RECEIVING A LETTER GRADE FOR COMPETITIVE PLACEMENT IN SPECIAL ADMISSIONS PROGRAMS, FINANCIAL AID AND FOR OTHER ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS. I HEAR FROM FACULTY EVERY DAY WHO ARE CONCERNED ABOUT HOW STUDENTS ARE MAKING IT IN THIS VIRTUAL ENVIRONMENT. AND SO FACULTY HAVE BEEN EXTREMELY FLEXIBLE IN DETERMINING HOW TO EVALUATE STUDENT PROGRESS AND AWARD APPROPRIATE GRADES IN CLASSES. THEY HAVE BEEN FLEXIBLE WITH GRADING PRACTICES WHILE ENSURING THEY ARE ACHIEVING THE DESIGNATED STUDENT OUTCOMES FOR THEIR CLASS. THOSE ARE BEING PAID FOR OUT OF THE FOUNDATION, OUT OF OUR EMERGENCY AID DOLLARS, PRIVATE DOLLARS. THOSE ARE INDIVIDUALS WHO WOULD TYPICALLY GO TO THE FOOD PANTRY ON CAMPUS AND ASK FOR HELP. AND SO THEY DO THAT. THEY GET IN TOUCH WITH THE FOOD PANTRY COORDINATORS AND NOW WE PUT THE PROCESS IN PLACE TO HELP THEM. THAT'S ANOTHER WAY WE'VE WORKED WITH THAT GROUP OF STUDENTS. AS TO THE NORTH TEXAS FOOD BANK WE'VE HOSTED THEM ON NORTH LAKE'S CAMPUS ABOUT A WEEK AGO, A LITTLE OVER A WEEK AGO. THEY SET UP THERE TO DO A DRIVE THRU FOOD BANK OPERATION ONE DAY. STATE FUNDING, PROPERTY TAX REVENUE FORECAST, I STILL BELIEVE THIS CURRENT YEAR IS GOING TO STAY AT THE CURRENT LEVELS. THERE COULD BE A 5%. BUT NEXT YEAR A 5 OR 10% ARE PROBABLY THE TWO MOST PROBABLE NUMBERS FOR NEXT YEAR. WE HAVE GOTTEN INFORMATION FROM THE DALLAS COUNTY APPRAISAL DISTRICT. IT'S STILL TOO EARLY. WE DON'T EXPECT THE TAX BILL ASSESSED VALUE TO GO UP. SOMEWHERE BETWEEN 0-5%. COLLECTIONS WE CAN FORECAST ANYWHERE FROM 90 TO 98%. THAT WITH THE ADJUNCTS AND THE FACULTY, THOSE NUMBERS I THINK WOULD BE FAR MORE PALATABLE TO THE PUBLIC.
