MS.. MOLINA DO WE HAVE ANY CITIZENS DESIRING TO ADDRESS THE BOARD TODAY? SILENCE ME.

THANK YOU. OKAY.

WE WILL NOW BEGIN WITH A FEW SPECIAL PRESENTATIONS WE HAVE ON OUR AGENDA CHANCELLOR LENNON, MADAM CHAIR AND BOARD MEMBERS.

I'M HONORED TO HAVE A NUMBER OF OUR STUDENTS HERE TODAY THAT WE CAN RECOGNIZE FOR THE WORK, ALONG WITH OUR STAFF AND FACULTY AND OTHERS THAT SUPPORT THEM.

I'M GOING TO START WITH THE MALE ACHIEVEMENT PROGRAM AND TELL YOU A LITTLE BIT ABOUT THE MALE ACHIEVEMENT PROGRAM.

[5.1. Male Achievement Program]

IT AIMS TO INCREASE THE ACADEMIC SUCCESS, LEADERSHIP ABILITIES, PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND FINANCIAL SECURITY OF MALES OF COLOR BY EXPANDING THE SENSE OF BELONGING, ACADEMIC CONFIDENCE, CAMPUS ENGAGEMENT, PERSONAL IDENTITY AND CAREER ASPIRATIONS.

MAP, AS WE CALL IT AROUND HERE, HAS A CURRENT MEMBERSHIP OF 914 STUDENTS, WITH 411 OF THEM HOLDING A GPA BETWEEN A 3.0 AND A 4.0. A GROUP OF 14 STUDENTS WERE ACCOMPANIED BY FOUR STAFF TO THE BLACK, BROWN AND COLLEGE BOUND SUMMIT THAT WAS HELD IN TAMPA, FLORIDA, LAST MONTH.

SO AT THIS TIME, I'D LIKE TO CALL DR.

JOSEPH TO COME UP TO SHARE MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE PROGRAM AND TO INTRODUCE SOME MEMBERS OF THE TEAM.

THANK YOU, CHANCELLOR.

PARTICULAR. YEAH.

THERE YOU GO. MADAM CHAIR.

TRUSTEES. FOR EACH.

I'M LOUD. OH, THERE YOU GO.

YOU SEE? THERE YOU GO.

NOW. NOW, I DON'T NEED TO BE NATURALLY LOUD.

UH, MADAM CHAIR, TRUSTEES.

CHANCELLOR LONDON. I WOULD LIKE TO EXPRESS MY APPRECIATION TO DOCTOR LONDON AND THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES FOR THE OPPORTUNITY TO SPOTLIGHT THE MALE ACHIEVEMENT PROGRAM.

THE STAFF AND STUDENTS THAT PARTICIPATE IN THIS PROGRAM ARE DEDICATED TO THE ADVANCEMENT AND SUCCESS OF CURRENT AND FUTURE MALE STUDENTS.

SINCE OUR BEGINNING IN 2020, WE HAVE GROWN FROM 518 TO 914 PARTICIPANTS AS CHANCELLOR, LONDON STATED.

THIS GROWTH CAN BE ATTRIBUTED TO THE GREAT LEADERSHIP, MENTORSHIP AND PARTNERSHIPS THAT OUR STUDENTS EXPERIENCE.

I WOULD LIKE TO INTRODUCE GABE RANDALL, THE SENIOR MANAGER, TO SHARE MORE INFORMATION AND INTRODUCE OUR STAFF.

GABE. THANK YOU, DR.

JOSEPH. THAT'S REALLY LOUD, TOO.

SO IF WE NEED THEM, THAT'S GREAT.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS OPPORTUNITY.

I HUMBLY SERVE AS THE SENIOR MANAGER FOR THE MALE ACHIEVEMENT PROGRAM.

I AM REALLY GOING TO GIVE A LOT OF THANK YOUS FOR WHAT WE DO HERE IN THIS PROGRAM, BECAUSE IT DOES TAKE A VILLAGE TO DO WHAT WE DO.

SO FIRST, THANK YOU, DR.

LOWMAN, FOR ALL THE WORK THAT YOU DO.

DR. JOSEPH, DR.

STEPHANIE HILL, DR.

DEENA HAGGERTY, OUR NEW HENDERSON HILL.

EVERYBODY COMES TOGETHER.

THE CAMPUS PRESIDENTS THAT ARE HERE REPRESENTED TODAY.

EVERYBODY REALLY HAS PLAYED A PART IN THE SUCCESS OF THE MALE ACHIEVEMENT PROGRAM AND WHAT WE DO.

AND I'M SO THANKFUL THAT DALLAS COLLEGE TRUST THE WORK THAT IS BEING DONE TO HELP BRIDGE THIS GAP WITH OUR MALE STUDENTS OF COLOR AND HELPING THEM BE ACADEMICALLY PREPARED AND PREPARED FOR LIFE OUTSIDE OF DALLAS COLLEGE.

[00:05:04]

AND SO I'M JUST VERY THANKFUL FOR EVERYBODY THAT PLAYS A PART IN THIS AND MY STAFF.

WE HAVE A GREAT STAFF THAT SERVES ACROSS ALL SEVEN CAMPUSES.

EACH ONE OF THEM WORKS VERY HARD AND REALLY COMES IN WITH THE CAN DO ATTITUDE TO DO THIS WORK TO HELP THESE STUDENTS BECAUSE IT TAKES A SPECIAL PERSON TO REALLY DO THIS WORK.

AND I'M VERY THANKFUL FOR THE STAFF.

THEY MAKE ME LOOK GOOD. I JUST SIT BACK AND MAKE SURE THAT THEY HAVE WHAT THEY NEED, BUT THEY REALLY DO DO THE WORK.

AND SO I SAID, I'M GETTING A BUNCH OF THANK YOU'S, BUT I WOULD LIKE TO I DO HAVE TWO STAFF MEMBERS HERE TO AS WELL.

JEREMIAH STINNETTE IS GOING TO COME UP, BUT I ALSO HAVE MR BERNARD IN THE OFFICE FROM EASTFIELD.

HE IS HERE AS WELL.

AND SO WE ARE ONE BIG TEAM THAT ALL SUPPORTS EACH OTHER.

BUT I WOULD LIKE TO BRING UP MY PROGRAM LEAD FROM THE BROOKHAVEN CAMPUS, MR JEREMIAH STINNETTE.

HE ACCOMPANIED 14 STUDENTS TO THE BLACK, BROWN AND COLLEGEBOUND SUMMIT THAT WAS IN TAMPA AS WELL AS THEY PRESENTED AT THAT EVENT AS WELL.

SO I'M GOING TO BRING UP MR JEREMIAH STINNETTE.

HEY, EVERYONE. MY NAME IS JEREMIAH.

I'M ONE OF THE PROGRAM LEADS FOR THE ALGEBRA PROGRAM AT THE BROOKHAVEN CAMPUS.

AND IT IS AN ABSOLUTE JOY AND PLEASURE TO GET TO DO WHAT I DO.

I'M A PRODUCT OF A MALE PROGRAM, SOMETHING THAT I WAS A PART OF WHEN I GREW UP IN HIGH SCHOOL.

SO IT'S PRETTY MUCH BEEN A GOAL AND A DREAM TO SUPPORT A PROGRAM LIKE THIS.

AND IT'S SUCH A JOY AND SUCH A GREAT TIME ACCOMPANYING THESE YOUNG MEN TO TAMPA.

I'M REALLY EXCITED FOR YOU ALL TO HEAR WHAT THEY EXPERIENCED.

BUT FIRST, I'M GOING TO TELL YOU ALL A LITTLE BIT ABOUT THEM, AS WELL AS EXPLAIN THE THREE QUESTIONS THAT THEY WERE ASKED TO ANSWER.

SO THEY'RE ALL GOING TO COME UP WITH A LITTLE BIT ABOUT THEMSELVES, BUT THEY ALSO ARE GOING TO ANSWER THESE THREE QUESTIONS.

SO I WANTED TO MAKE SURE YOU ALL WERE BRIEFED ON THAT.

SO OUR FIRST STUDENTS THAT WE HAVE ARE JESUS ROJO.

HE'S A STUDENT AT THE BROOKHAVEN CAMPUS.

HE'S A POLITICAL SCIENCE MAJOR WITH A 3.06 GPA AND IS CURRENTLY COMPLETED 42 CREDIT HOURS WITH DALLAS COLLEGE.

HE'S ALSO AN EXECUTIVE MEMBER FOR THE SGA.

HE PLANS TO ATTEND LAW SCHOOL IN THE FUTURE.

THE NEXT STUDENT IS YARA MIRANDA.

HE IS RECEIVING HIS ASSOCIATES OF ARTS, I BELIEVE, RIGHT SCIENCE ASSOCIATE OF SCIENCE, BUT PLANS TO BE A FUTURE ENTREPRENEUR.

HE WANTED TO MAKE SURE PEOPLE KNEW THAT AS WELL AS HAS A 3.27 GPA AND HAS COMPLETED 20 CREDIT HOURS AT THE EL CENTRO CAMPUS.

HE IS ALSO CURRENTLY A WORK STUDY STUDENT AT EL CENTRO AND IS THE PRESIDENT OF THE ENTREPRENEURSHIP CLUB.

ALL SO ON HIS WAY TO BEING AN ENTREPRENEUR AND GOAL AND CURRENTLY OWNS SEVERAL LOCAL AND COMMUNITY BUSINESSES.

NEXT, WE HAVE LAWSON COLLINS FROM THE EASTFIELD CAMPUS.

HE IS A SOCIAL WORK MAJOR WITH A 3.16 GPA AND CURRENTLY COMPLETED 38 CREDIT HOURS.

HE IS CURRENTLY THE PRESIDENT OF THE CAMPUS SPIRITUAL RELIGIOUS LIFE'S JOURNEY CLUB, AS WELL AS A MEMBER OF THE MUSIC CLUB AND DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS CLUB, AND PLANS TO GRADUATE WITH AN ASSOCIATE'S AND TRANSFER TO UT ARLINGTON IN THE FUTURE.

AND LASTLY, WE HAVE JAROD SHELTON, WHO IS A STUDENT AT THE EL CENTRO CAMPUS STUDYING AN ASSOCIATE'S OF ARTS WITH A 3.24 GPA AND CURRENTLY 43 CREDIT HOURS COMPLETED.

HE IS ALSO THE PRESIDENT OF THE SGA AT EL CENTRO CAMPUS AND THE VICE PRESIDENT OF THE EL CENTRO ENTREPRENEURSHIP CLUB AND UPON GRADUATION, IS ACTUALLY LOOKING TO HOPEFULLY WORK FOR DALLAS COLLEGE IN THE FUTURE.

SO WE'RE REALLY EXCITED TO HAVE THESE YOUNG MEN HERE.

YES, WONDERFUL YOUNG MEN.

AND AGAIN, SO GRATEFUL TO HAVE ACCOMPANYING THEM.

SO WE ASKED THEM THREE QUESTIONS BEFORE THEY CAME TODAY.

THE THREE QUESTIONS THAT WE ASKED THEM WERE, WHAT DID YOU LEARN AND HOW WILL YOU USE IT AS A STUDENT AT DALLAS COLLEGE? HOW DOES ANYTHING THAT YOU LEARNED ALIGN WITH YOUR PERSONAL GOALS, AND WHY DO YOU THINK THE BLACK, BROWN AND COLLEGEBOUND SUMMIT AND SIMILAR CONFERENCES ARE BENEFICIAL FOR MAP SCHOLARS AND SHOULD BE ATTENDED ANNUALLY? SO WE'RE NOW GOING TO COME UP ONE AT A TIME AND ANSWER THOSE QUESTIONS FOR YOU ALL.

OKAY. THANK YOU, GUYS.

SHH. HELLO, GUYS.

MY NAME IS JESUS, AND I'M THE FIRST STUDENT THAT MR. JEREMIAH INTRODUCED.

AND THE STUDENT THAT I'VE ALWAYS FOUND A LOVE FOR JUSTICE.

AND I WANTED TO HOPEFULLY ATTEND A PRESTIGIOUS UNIVERSITY SUCH AS TEXAS A&M OR SMU OR ANY OTHER THING THAT I'LL WANT TO GO FOR. A LOT OF PEOPLE ALWAYS TELL ME, SO I'M HERE ON THIS ON THIS BEHALF OF THOSE THREE QUESTIONS THAT I HAVE TO PRESENT TO YOU GUYS.

SO THE FIRST QUESTION WAS, WHAT DID I LEARN AND HOW WE USE THIS STUDENT? I LEARNED A LOT. I LEARNED HOW TO INSPIRE NOT ONLY MYSELF, BUT OTHER PEOPLE AS WELL.

FROM THIS TEMPERATURE, I LEARNED I LEARNED A LOT BEING IN ACHIEVEMENT PROGRAM AND ESSER AS A TREASURER, I LEARNED THE SKILLS, LEARNED SKILLS THAT I LEARNED ALLOWED ME TO INSPIRE AND BUILD UP OTHER STUDENTS EFFECTIVELY.

SECOND QUESTION GOES HOW DOES ANYTHING THAT YOU LEARNED ALIGN WITH YOUR GOALS? TIRZ MYSELF A LOT.

YOU KNOW, ATTENDING VCB NOT ONLY DID THIS EVENT ESSENTIALLY ON TOP OF THAT, BUT REALLY CBD WAS A MOTIVATION AND ASSISTANCE THAT I NEEDED TO

[00:10:02]

HELP SET THE FOUNDATION FOR MY SUCCESS, ESPECIALLY COMING FROM DALLAS COLLEGE.

IT'S AN AMAZING OPPORTUNITY TO BE EVEN HERE.

SO THE THIRD QUESTION IS WHY DO YOU THINK THE TASB SUMMIT AND SIMILAR CONFERENCES ARE BENEFICIAL FOR SCHOLARS? IT SHOULD BE ATTENDED ANNUALLY.

MY ANSWER IS I BELIEVE THAT BDC SUMMIT AND SIMILAR CONFERENCES ARE BENEFICIAL FOR SCHOLARS AND SHOULD BE ATTENDED ANNUALLY BECAUSE IT HELPS SCHOLARS WHO ARE LOST AND UNMOTIVATED. A COLLEGE IS A PLACE FOR THOSE WHO WANT TO PURSUE HIGHER EDUCATION BUT DON'T KNOW WHERE TO START.

BXB WOULD SOLIDIFY AND HELP SCHOLARS IN THEIR OWN UNIQUE WAY.

THANK YOU.

HELLO, LADIES AND GENTLEMEN OF THE BOARD.

MY NAME IS JENNIFER MIRANDA, AND I WOULD LIKE TO GIVE A SPECIAL THANKS TO THE PROGRAM OVER AT THE CENTRAL CAMPUS.

MR. TIM MCDUFFIE. WITHOUT HIM, I WILL NEVER SCORED AN INTERNSHIP AS A LAKE CITY WORKING IN THE PRESIDENT'S OFFICE WITH MR BRAVO.

AND IT WAS RIGHT HERE.

AND NOT JUST THAT, I WOULD HAVE NEVER BECAME THE AMBASSADOR FOR THE SGA, WHICH WOULD HAVE LED TO THE VICE PRESIDENCY I HAVE CURRENTLY.

AND THEN ALSO I WOULD HAVE NEVER BEEN A STUDENT OF THE YEAR PROGRAM AS WELL.

MY ANSWER TO THE THREE QUESTIONS ARE I HAVE REALLY GAINED VALUABLE INSIGHTS INTO THE SIGNIFICANCE OF NETWORKING.

I CAME TO REALIZE THAT THE RELATIONSHIPS YOU CULTIVATE AND THE CONTACTS YOU ESTABLISH DURING THIS TIME WILL BE THE VERY CONNECTIONS THAT WILL DRIVE YOUR FUTURE TO SUCCESS.

AND SO FAR THAT HAS BEEN PROVING VERY TRUE FOR ME.

I TELL TO SELL AND SERVE, TO REINFORCE MY EXISTING IDEALS AND PROVIDE ME WITH THE CONFIDENCE TO KNOW THAT I AM ON THE RIGHT TRACK.

SPECIFICALLY MY BARRIERS TO LAUNCH ONE BUSINESS MY NEXT YEAR AND A NETWORKING AND NETWORKING SKILLS THAT I ESTABLISHED OVER IN TAMPA ARE INVALUABLE TOOL THAT WILL HELP ME ACHIEVE MY DREAMS. CONFERENCES LIKE THESE HOLD SIGNIFICANT VALUE FOR MEN OF COLOR LIKE OURSELVES.

WE RARELY GET THE CHANCE TO PURSUE A HIGHER EDUCATION, LET ALONE GRADUATE.

I ALSO REALLY APPRECIATED THE FEELING OF GETTING A FREE HAIRCUT.

I GOT ON STAGE AND I'LL BE BACK NOW.

UNFORTUNATELY, EVERY OPPORTUNITY WAS MISSED.

THE GRAND STAGE, I THINK THAT AS A SPEAKER VERY SOON.

HELLO, MEMBERS OF THE BOARD.

I JUST WANT TO SAY THAT.

LET ME HOLD ON. LET ME JUST I JUST WANT TO GIVE A SPECIAL THANKS TO MR ON ONE OF THE PROGRAM LEADS FOR GIVING ME THIS OPPORTUNITY.

HE'S HELPED A LOT WITH EVERYTHING THAT I'VE LEARNED WITH WITH BEING IN MAP AND JUST OVERALL THE SUCCESS OF MYSELF.

ONE THING THAT I LEARNED THAT I REALLY TOOK AWAY FROM BEING AT TAMPA, WHICH IS SOMETHING THAT THEY ALSO CARRY OVER VERY WELL IN THE MAP PROGRAM, IS JUST BEING ON THE GRIND IS WHAT THEY CALL IT, JUST MAKING SURE THAT YOU'RE WORKING HARD AND YOU'RE CONTINUING TO PURSUE THE THINGS THAT YOU KNOW YOU NEED TO PURSUE AND BEING THAT LEADER THAT EVERYONE CAN FOLLOW, BUT ALSO MAKING SURE THAT YOU'RE DOING YOUR WORK SO THAT WAY YOU CAN MAKE TIME TO HELP OTHER PEOPLE AS WELL.

UM, THE OTHER QUESTION LET ME GET IT OUT REAL QUICK.

I'M SORRY. UM, THE SECOND QUESTION WAS, UM.

HOW DOES HOW DOES ANYTHING THAT YOU LEARN ALIGN WITH YOUR GOALS? SO AS FAR AS BEING ON THE THE TRIP TO TAMPA AND BEING IN THE PROGRAM, UM, ACTUALLY, IT WAS A BLESSING BEING IN THIS PROGRAM BECAUSE I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW ABOUT IT UNTIL MR AUNON WALKED UP TO ME AND JUST INVITED ME TO ONE OF THE LUNCHEONS AND ONE OF THEIR ONE OF THEIR CONFERENCES.

ONE OF MY GOALS IS TO BE A LEADER IN SOCIAL WORK, WHICH IS A LOT OF WHAT OUR CAMPUS OFFERS, A LOT OF SOCIAL WORKERS AND A LOT OF CONNECTIONS THERE.

AND BEING AT TAMPA HAD ME LEARN THAT A BIG PART OF THAT IS LEADERSHIP, BECAUSE YOU HAVE TO STEP OUT, BE BOLD, BE IN THE COMMUNITY AND MAKE THAT IMPACT THAT YOU WANT TO MAKE. AND LASTLY, UM, LASTLY, THE SIGNIFICANCE OF THE SUMMIT AND WHETHER IT SHOULD BE ATTENDED ANNUALLY BY MAP SCHOLARS.

I SAID THAT I AGREED BECAUSE, UM, I BELIEVE THAT IT SHOWS PEOPLE THAT DON'T REALLY HAVE THAT OPPORTUNITY TO REALLY SEE, UM, THE EXAMPLES OUT THERE.

AND YOU DON'T REALLY SEE THAT IN YOUNG PEOPLE NOWADAYS AND BEING ABLE TO HAVE THESE EXPERIENCES TO GO OUT AND TO, TO LEAD, TO BUILD NETWORKS AND JUST OVERALL SOCIAL INTERACTIONS WITH PEOPLE THAT ARE AT A HIGHER LEVEL THAN YOU ARE.

UM, IT, IT BRINGS MORE OF THAT CONFIDENCE AND THAT BOLDNESS TO BE ABLE TO GO INTO THEIR CAREERS AND TO, TO JUST MAKE AN IMPACT MORE THAN WHAT, UM, SOME OLDER GENERATIONS CAN SEE IN THE YOUNGER GENERATIONS.

[00:15:01]

THANK YOU. NO.

UM, GOOD EVENING, EVERYONE.

JAMES LEVINE IS LOOKING AT ME LIKE I WANT TO SAY SOMETHING CAUSE TROUBLE.

START TURNING AROUND FOR THAT PODIUM.

I THINK HE KNOWS ME A LITTLE TOO WELL.

SO, FIRST OF ALL, THANK YOU AGAIN.

I'M HAPPY TO BE HERE.

AND I'M HAPPY TO TO BE A STUDENT.

THAT IS A FAMILIAR FACE TO, YOU KNOW, TO YOU GUYS.

AS FAR AS THE STUDENT BODY, I'M HAPPY TO REPORT ON EVERYTHING THAT'S GOING ON THAT Y'ALL ARE ALLOWING TO MAKE HAPPEN.

YOU KNOW, YOU GUYS ARE DEFINITELY ALLOWING THE SPACE FOR FOR ME AND MANY OTHER STUDENTS TO TO DO THESE THINGS.

SO IN RESPONSE TO EVERYTHING.

SO THE MAIN THING I LEARNED WAS HOW IT WAS, HOW THE MEANING OF COLOR AND HOW SMALL OUR POPULATION IS AND HOW YOUR EDUCATION, YOU KNOW.

SO WHEN YOU COMPARE MEN OF COLOR TO TO WOMEN, YOU KNOW, WE'RE WE'RE VERY SMALL WHEN YOU COMPARE TO NON-HISPANIC WHITES, WE'RE VERY SMALL.

SO JUST JUST REALLY HAVING A REAL IMPACT ON HOW SMALL, YOU KNOW, HOW WE ARE.

AND IT MAKES ME WANT TO CONTINUE TO DO THE THINGS THAT I'M DOING.

SO I WILL SAY AFTER THAT WHOLE DAY, LIKE EVERY DAY, IT WAS NOTHING BUT BREAKOUT SESSIONS TO LEARN.

AND I MADE IT VERY CLEAR TO OUR PROGRAM LEADERS THAT I WANT TO SIT.

I WANT TO SIT IN THEIR PRESENTATION.

YOU KNOW, THIS IS OUR FIRST TIME.

OUR INSTITUTION CAME IN BLACK, BROWN COLLEGE BOUND, AND THE PROGRAM LEADS AND GAVE.

THEY WERE ABLE TO SECURE A TIME FOR THEM TO PRESENT AND THEY ABSOLUTELY CRUSHED IT.

AND IT GAVE ME A SENSE OF HUMILITY BECAUSE I'M HEARING THEM TALK ABOUT THE THINGS THAT THEY DO ON HOW TO HAVE A SUCCESSFUL MALE PROGRAM.

AND I'M SITTING HERE LISTENING TO IT AND SAYING LIKE, I SEE NO, WHY? THESE ARE ALL FACTS.

YOU KNOW, IT'S LIKE EVERYTHING THEY SAID THAT THEY DO, THEY ACTUALLY DOING AND THEY'RE ABLE TO HAVE A SUCCESSFUL PROGRAM AND BEING ABLE TO JUST ATTEST TO THAT AND CHAMPION THEM WAS WAS AMAZING TO ME.

BUT IT WAS SOME THINGS THAT I WANTED TO SAY TO THE BOARD THAT I GET THAT I DIDN'T GET A CHANCE TO SAY.

SO IN RETROSPECT.

SEEING THE PROGRAM FOR THE MENTAL TREATMENT PROGRAM PRESENT AND TALK ABOUT THE THINGS THAT THEY DO IN ORDER TO BE SUCCESSFUL.

I'VE SEEN THE SAME THING AT DC JASMINE AND MADAM CHAIR, LADY BRAVO AND HCRC TRUSTEE BOY.

SO I SEE YOU GUYS IN YOUR NATURAL ELEMENT TALKING TO THE CONGRESS, PEOPLE TALKING TO LEGISLATORS, TALKING TO PEOPLE THAT CAN MAKE THINGS HAPPEN FOR OUR INSTITUTION, FOR OUR DISTRICT. SO IN THE SAME RESPECT, I, YOU KNOW, JUST, JUST HATS OFF TO Y'ALL BECAUSE I WANT TO BE AROUND.

AND YEAH, SO IT IS TRUE.

I WOULD LIKE TO WORK FOR DALLAS COLLEGE IN SOME CAPACITY BECAUSE EVERYONE TALKS ABOUT YOU LEAVING AND THEY'RE LIKE, THEY NEED TO FILL THE SHOES THAT ESSENTIAL.

I'M LIKE, ALL RIGHT, RELAX, RELAX.

BUT IF YOU GUYS DON'T WANT ME, THAT'S OKAY.

I'LL BE A SUCCESSFUL BUSINESSMAN ELSEWHERE AND PUT YOU TO WORK.

YEAH, BUT SERIOUSLY, I AM TRULY GRATEFUL TO BE PART OF THE INSTITUTION, AND I WOULD JUST LOVE TO STAY.

I FEEL LIKE I KNOW MORE ADMINISTRATION AND STUDENTS, YOU KNOW? BUT THAT'S ALL THE WORDS I GOT, Y'ALL.

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR HAVING ME.

WELL, THANKS TO EACH OF YOU FOR FOR SHARING THAT STORY.

THANKS TO GABE AND TEAM FOR ALL THAT YOU DO EVERY DAY.

I HAVE BEEN LUCKY ENOUGH TO BE ABLE TO ENGAGE WITH WITH ALL OF THESE FOUR GENTLEMEN HERE AND WITH A NUMBER OF STUDENTS IN OUR PROGRAM.

AND THEY'RE ALL JUST AMAZING INDIVIDUALS.

AND SO THANKS FOR BEING PART OF THE DALLAS COLLEGE FAMILY.

AND AGAIN, THANKS FOR THE HARD WORK YOU ALL DO TO SUPPORT THESE GENTLEMEN.

DO A PHOTO OR. OH, YEAH.

OH, YES. OH, YES.

I THOUGHT YOU MAY BE GETTING READY TO SAY SOMETHING ELSE.

TRUSTEE CONTENT TO YOU. ME? OH. OH, YOU FINISHED? WE ARE HAVING A LARGE SUM AND A LARGE SPEND OF THE YEAR IS NEXT SATURDAY AT CEDAR VALLEY'S CAMPUS FROM 9 TO 3.

WE'D LOVE TO HAVE AN ENTIRE LUNCHEON BE A PART OF OUR.

OUR LARGEST EVENT. WE DO HAVE SOME GREAT KEYNOTES AND SOME GREAT SPEAKERS WE'LL BE SEEING.

SO COME ON OUT AND BE A PART OF OUR SATURDAY.

YEAH, NO, I JUST WANTED TO SAY, AND I'M GLAD YOU INSTITUTED THESE PRESENTATIONS BECAUSE WE HAVE SO MUCH GOING ON ACROSS THE DISTRICT AND IT'S JUST HARD TO KEEP UP WITH EVERYTHING.

[00:20:01]

AND ONE OF THE THINGS AND I WILL TELL YOU ALL THAT I'M JUST REAL HAPPY ABOUT THAT THE BOARD SUPPORTS PROVIDING OPPORTUNITIES FOR OUR STUDENTS SO THEY CAN EXPAND.

THEY CAN LEARN, BUT THEY CAN ALSO EXPAND THEIR HORIZONS.

AND YOU'RE IN DIFFERENT SETTINGS BECAUSE I'M A FIRM BELIEVER THAT ENVIRONMENT CHANGES THINGS AND IT HELPS YOU MAKE A LOT OF CRITICAL DECISIONS FOR YOUR LIFE.

SO I'M VERY PLEASED WITH THAT.

THEN I HAD A QUESTION ON THE MALE ACHIEVEMENT PROGRAM ACROSS THE DISTRICT.

HOW MANY YOU ALL KNOW RIGHT OFFHAND HOW MANY MALES WE HAVE THAT PARTICIPATE IN THE PROGRAM? SO WE DID GET TO MEMBERS AND THE LAST NUMBERS THAT WE HAD AS FAR AS MEN OF COLOR OF ANY AGE IS AROUND ABOUT 10,000 STUDENTS.

WOW. WOW.

AND THAT'S OF ANY RANGE.

AND THAT'S INCLUDING EARLY HIGH SCHOOL ALL THE WAY UP UNTIL THEY'RE 50 AND THEY'RE TAKING A CREDIT HOUR WITH US.

AND SO THE GOOD THING IS THAT WE SERVE ALL OF THEM AND WE DO NOT HAVE A GAP.

WE DO NOT SAY IF THEY ARE ENROLLED IN DALLAS COLLEGE, THEY CAN BE IN THE MENTORING PROGRAM AND BENEFIT FROM ANYTHING.

I'M HAPPY THAT ALL OF OUR CAMPUSES ARE TAKING THE OPPORTUNITY TO HELP MOLD YOUNG MEN OF COLOR, WHICH WE ALL KNOW ARE.

A LOT OF THE NUMBERS IN SOME CRITICAL AREAS ARE JUST NOT GOOD.

SO ANY POSITIVE INFLUENCE THAT WE CAN BASICALLY PUT FORTH AS A DISTRICT ALWAYS HELPS.

SO THANK YOU.

THANK YOU. IT'S BEEN VERY BENEFICIAL TO HAVE THIS PROGRAM BUT HAVE THE SUPPORT THAT WE HAVE.

AND WE'VE BEEN FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO WORK WITH JUST ABOUT EVERY DEPARTMENT WITHIN DALLAS COLLEGE.

I COULD LITERALLY NAME PROBABLY EVERYBODY IN HERE, AND THEY HAVE BEEN A SUPPORT OF THE PROGRAM.

THEN THE LAST THING THAT I WANT TO SAY, AND I DIDN'T REALLY WANT TO LAUGH, BUT EVERYBODY GOT A PLUG FOR THEIR JOB.

THEY ARE DEFINITELY ON THEIR CAREER PATH.

YEAH, GOOD THING YOU KNOW.

TRUSTEE GARCIA, THANK YOU.

I'M NEITHER A MALE OR A STUDENT, BUT I ATTENDED ONE OF YOUR PROGRAMS AND I WALKED AWAY ABSOLUTELY AMAZED AND IMPRESSED.

SO THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR WHAT YOU'RE DOING.

IT IS SORELY NEEDED AND NEEDS TO BE THROUGHOUT THE DISTRICT.

THANK YOU. THANK YOU. I APPRECIATE THAT.

AND I ALWAYS REFER BACK TO MY TEAM WHO PUT THAT STUFF TOGETHER.

YOU KNOW, I APPRECIATE IT, BUT THEY WORK REALLY HARD AND THE SUPPORT THAT WE GET FROM DALLAS COLLEGE AND THEN MY CHAIN, LIKE I SAID, DR.

JOSEPH, DR. HILL, MY AD AND MY DEAN, THEY REALLY SUPPORT WHAT WE DO.

SO IT'S ALL THEM AND OUR COMBINED EFFORTS.

SO THANK YOU. THANK YOU.

SO, YEAH, IF YOU ALL COULD COME UP FOR A PHOTO, PLEASE.

YEAH, I THINK WE'RE BACK HERE.

OKAY. GO ON.

COME ON. OKAY.

OKAY, GREAT, GREAT.

GREAT TO GET BACK OVER THERE.

SO.

[00:26:41]

SO I'D LIKE TO ASK DR.

JOSEPH TO COME BACK UP, BECAUSE WE'VE GOT SOME OF OUR STUDENT GOVERNMENT LEADERS THAT ARE HERE THAT RECENTLY ATTENDED THE TEXAS JUNIOR COLLEGE STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION REGION

[5.2. Student Government Association (SGA)]

TWO SPRING CONFERENCE AT GRAYSON COLLEGE, WHERE THEY EARNED MULTIPLE AWARDS.

AND SO THE NEXT STEP IS FOR THE CHAPTERS TO COMPETE AT THE STATE LEVEL.

AND SO DR.

JOSEPH WILL SHARE MORE DETAILS FROM THERE.

SURE. THANK YOU.

ONCE AGAIN, THANK YOU TO DR.

LONDON AND THE BOARD FOR GIVING US THE OPPORTUNITY TO HIGHLIGHT THE STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION.

I WOULD LIKE TO THANK ALL OF OUR STAFF AND STUDENTS WHO SERVE ON THE EXECUTIVE BOARD OF THE TEXAS JUNIOR COLLEGE STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION, REGION TWO.

AND FOR THOSE WHO HELP MAKE THE SPRING CONFERENCE A SUCCESS, I'M EXCITED TO INTRODUCE FRANKIE WARD, OUR DIRECTOR OF STUDENT LIFE.

DURING THE CONFERENCE, SHE PRESENTED ON HONESTY IN LEADERSHIP.

NO SUGARCOATING.

I DON'T KNOW WHAT EXACTLY THAT IS, BUT IT SOUNDS REALLY INTERESTING.

AND AS MENTIONED PREVIOUSLY, THE PROGRAM LEAD FOR THE MAC PROGRAM ALSO MADE A PRESENTATION TO IN THAT CONFERENCE AND BOTH PRESENTERS WERE RECOGNIZED AS CONTRIBUTORS TO THE REGION.

TWO SPRING CONFERENCE.

I WOULD LIKE TO INVITE FRANKIE WARD TO SHARE MORE ABOUT THE PROGRAM AND INTRODUCE OUR STUDENTS WHO ATTENDED THE CONFERENCE.

FRANKIE. GOOD EVENING. ON BEHALF OF THE OFFICE OF STUDENT LIFE.

THANK YOU FOR THE OPPORTUNITY TO ADDRESS THE BOARD AND HIGHLIGHTING OUR DALLAS COLLEGE STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION.

I AM SO PROUD OF STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION FOR THE MANY ACCOMPLISHMENTS AND PROJECTS SGA IS CURRENTLY WORKING ON.

AND FIRST, I WOULD LIKE TO INTRODUCE OUR FIRST STUDENT SPEAKER, WHICH IS CALEB WILBURN.

HELLO, EVERYONE. THANK YOU.

GOOD AFTERNOON. BEFORE I START MY REPORT.

IF POSSIBLE, I'D LIKE EVERYONE TO REPEAT AFTER ME.

OKAY. WITHOUT A PLAN, THERE IS FAILURE.

THEREFORE, HAVE A PLAN.

THANK YOU. AND WITH THAT BEING SAID, I'D LIKE TO SAY THANK YOU.

AND I AM TRULY HONORED TO BE A PART OF THE PLAN FOR THE FUTURE SUCCESS OF OUR DALLAS COLLEGE STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION.

I'D LIKE TO ALSO THANK DIRECTOR WARD FOR HER CONTINUOUS COMMUNICATION BETWEEN EACH OF THE CAMPUSES AND ALSO HER COLLABORATION IN THE MEETINGS TO CREATE THE NEW CONSTITUTION. TO ALL OF THE RIGOROUS DIALOG WITHIN EACH MEETING.

WE WERE ABLE TO CREATE THE PREAMBLE AS WELL AS THE MISSION STATEMENT FOR THE NEW CONSTITUTION FOR OUR DALLAS COLLEGE STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION.

AND WITH THAT BEING SAID, THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME.

THANK YOU. A BEAUTIFUL PLACE.

THEN. NOW I BRING TO YOU AUBREY RICHARDSON.

[00:30:10]

HELLO. FIRST, I WOULD LIKE TO THANK EVERYONE, ESPECIALLY DR.

NOT DR. DIRECTOR. THANK YOU, LORD, FOR GIVING US THE OPPORTUNITY TO, AS STUDENT LEADERS TO COME TOGETHER AND WRITE OUR VERY OWN GOVERNING DOCUMENT.

I CAN CONFIDENTLY SAY THIS IS A HUGE LEAP OUTSIDE OF MY COMFORT ZONE, BUT BECAUSE I DON'T HAVE ANY EXPERIENCE WRITING ANY LEGAL DOCUMENTS OR PROCEDURES, BUT I CAN SAY I LOVED EVERY MOMENT OF IT.

DURING THIS PROCESS, IT WAS ASTONISHING TO SEE HOW EACH CAMPUS, HOW HOW EACH CAMPUS PRIORITIZE DIFFERENT ASPECTS WITHIN A CONSTITUTION.

FOR EXAMPLE, SOME WANTED TO BE CLEAR, CONCISE AND OPEN TO INTERPRETATION, WHEREAS OTHERS WANTED IT TO BE MORE DETAILED AND ADDRESS MULTIPLE KEY ASPECTS.

IT WAS THAT VERY DISCUSSION THAT MADE ME REALIZE THAT THE UNIQUE CULTURES OF EACH CAMPUS PLAYED A VERY BIG PART ON WHAT WAS BEING DISCUSSED AND WHAT WAS BEING WRITTEN WITHIN THE WRITING ROOM.

AND I CAN ALSO SAY THAT IT GAVE THOSE MEETINGS A SENSE OF COMMUNITY BECAUSE EVERYONE PRESENT HAS THEIR OWN BACKGROUND, THEIR OWN STORY, AND THEIR OWN UNIQUE WAY OF THINKING THAT SORRY, IN THEIR OWN UNIQUE WAY OF THINKING THAT THOSE KEY ASPECTS REALLY DROVE US INTO WILL DRIVE US INTO CREATING A CONSTITUTION THAT WILL TRULY REPRESENT US ALL.

I WALKED INTO THOSE MEETINGS EXPECTING HOPE, HOPING TO GAIN MORE INSIGHT KNOWLEDGE ON HOW DALLAS COLLEGE POLICIES WILL DIRECTLY AFFECT THE STUDENT BODY. AND I WALKED OUT WITH SO MUCH MORE THAN I EXPECTED.

WORDS CANNOT.

DESCRIBE HOW GRATEFUL I AM TO BE A PART OF THAT EXPERIENCE.

AND I'VE DECIDED THAT THIS IS A LEGACY I WANT TO LEAVE BEHIND AT DALLAS COLLEGE.

SO ONCE AGAIN, THANK YOU.

THANK YOU.

IN OUR LAST STUDENT SPEAKER WILL BE PAUL SANTANA.

THANK YOU.

60. GOOD AFTERNOON.

I DIDN'T KNOW WE WERE GOING TO BE SO QUICK WITH IT TODAY.

SO APOLOGIES IN ADVANCE.

SO. HI, I'M PAUL SANTANA AND I'M THE VICE PRESIDENT OF THE MOUNTAIN VIEW CAMPUS STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION, CO-CHAIR OF THE RECRUITMENT AND RETENTION COMMITTEE.

APOLOGY FOR THE TJC SGA REGION TWO AND THE HISTORIAN FOR THE TEXAS JUNIOR COLLEGE STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION.

MY TIME WITH SGA HAS BEEN SOME OF THE MOST FULFILLING AND IMPACTFUL WORK I'VE EVER DONE.

IT HAS TAUGHT ME TO NOT JUST BE A MEMBER OF MY COMMUNITY, BUT TO SERVE IT.

GIVING BACK WHEN I CAN AND ADVOCATING WHEN I CANNOT.

NUNAVUT'S STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION HAS BEEN FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO BE ABLE TO DO MANY DIFFERENT EVENTS WITH THE ASSISTANCE OF OUR GREAT ADVISORS.

FOR EXAMPLE, JUST WEDNESDAY WE VOLUNTEERED AT THE NORTH TEXAS FOOD BANK, WORKING IN TANDEM WITH OTHER ORGANIZATIONS.

AND LIKE THE NORTH TEXAS FOOD BANK, HAS NOT JUST EXPANDED OUR REACH AS AN ORGANIZATION, BUT ALSO PREPARED US NOT AS STUDENTS AMONG FACULTY, BUT AS DELEGATES AMONG PEERS.

EXPERIENCE LIKE THIS ALLOWED US TO BE ABLE TO SHOW UP TO THE TEXAS JUNIOR COLLEGE STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION REGION TWO SPRING CONVENTION WITH OUR BEST FOOT FORWARD, PUTTING DALLAS COLLEGE ON THE MAP AND HELPING US SECURE TWO SEATS ON THE TJC SGA STATE BOARD OUT OF FIVE.

BUT AS WITH ANY ORGANIZATION, WE A STUDENT GOVERNMENT MEMBERS, UNDERSTAND THAT OUR TIME IS LIMITED AND NEED TO BEGIN PREPARING THE NEXT GENERATION FOR SUCCESS. SO WITH THE ASSIMILATION OF VIEW AND ALL OTHER CAMPUSES INTO DALLAS, COLLEGE DIRECTOR FRANKIE WARD HAS DONE AN ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE JOB WORKING WITH STUDENTS TO CRAFT A NEW UNIFIED STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION CONSTITUTION.

THIS CONSTITUTION WRITING INITIATIVE HAS TRULY BEEN STUDENT DRIVEN.

STUDENTS FIRST, ALL THE WAY WITH STUDENT GOVERNMENT MEMBERS FROM ALL CAMPUSES DECIDING THE MEETING TIME AGENDA AND WRITING THE CONSTITUTION. THAT WILL BE OUR LEGACY LONG AFTER WE ARE GONE.

I KNOW DALLAS COLLEGE IS STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION WILL BE IN A STRONGER POSITION OF ADVOCACY WHEN WE'RE FINISHED AND WE'LL BE DOING GOOD WORK FOR YEARS TO COME.

I HAVE BEEN POSTING TO THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME.

[00:35:05]

THANK YOU. THAT CONCLUDES OUR STUDENT GOVERNMENT ASSOCIATION.

I JUST WANT TO SAY THESE STUDENTS ARE ME.

THEY'RE MY HEART AND WORKING WITH THEM EVERY WE'VE BEEN MEETING EVERY SATURDAY TRYING TO GET EVERYTHING IN THESE DOCUMENTS TOGETHER.

THEY'RE US, NOT US, BUT SGA CONSTITUTION.

AND SO IT'S JUST BEEN A PLEASURE AND AN HONOR TO WORK WITH THESE STUDENTS.

THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH.

YES. TRUSTEE AUDITIONING FOR HIS FIRST.

BUT NO, AND THIS GOES OUT TO OUR EMPLOYEES, REGARDLESS OF WHAT CAPACITY YOU SERVE IN WORKING FOR US.

BUT I WANT YOU TO KNOW HOW GRATEFUL I AM FOR WHAT YOU'VE DONE WITH THE STUDENTS.

BECAUSE ONE THING THAT I HAVE NOTICED OVER THE YEARS SINCE I'VE BEEN SITTING ON THIS BOARD IS THAT YOU HAVE INSTILLED SOME OF THESE STUDENTS WITH CONFIDENCE AND BELIEF IN THEM, IN THEMSELVES, AND THEY KNOW THAT WE SEE YOU.

WE RELATE TO YOUR LIFE EXPERIENCES, BUT WE KNOW YOU CAN MOVE FORWARD BECAUSE GOD GAVE EVERYBODY A GIFT. SO YOU HAVE BEEN INSTRUMENTAL IN HELPING A LOT OF THESE YOUNG ADULTS, KIDS AND SO FORTH.

LIKE I TOLD MY GRANDDAUGHTER.

YOU HELP THEM ASK GOD FOR SOME DIRECTION IN THEIR LIVES AND HELP THEM PUT THEIR FEET ON THE RIGHT PATH. SO THANK YOU FOR ME.

I WILL JUST ADD THAT OVER THE YEARS I'VE WORKED ON A LOT OF BYLAWS FOR ORGANIZATIONS.

I'VE NEVER DONE A CONSTITUTION THOUGH, SO THAT IS AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE THAT WILL HELP YOU WITH MANY THINGS THROUGHOUT LIFE.

AND YEAH, SO GREAT JOB ON DOING THAT.

WELL, I'VE HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO SEE SOME OF THESE STUDENTS ON STAGES, DIFFERENT DIFFERENT MICROPHONES ACROSS THE COLLEGE, AND WE HAVE SUCH AMAZING STUDENT LEADERS.

AND SO WE'RE LUCKY TO HAVE ALL OF YOU WORKING ON A LEGACY DOCUMENT THAT YOU HAVE BEEN THAT WILL DIRECTLY IMPACT GENERATIONS OF STUDENTS TO COME.

SO THANK YOU FOR YOUR LEADERSHIP AND TO OUR STAFF.

THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO.

60.

[5.3. Dallas College Basketball Championship Student Recognition]

OF SOME OF OUR STUDENT ATHLETES THAT ARE HERE WITH US THAT WE WANT TO RECOGNIZE THIS EVENING.

SO I'LL ASK DR.

JOSEPH TO COME BACK HERE.

WEARING HER OTHER HAT.

PRESIDENT OF MOUNT VIEW AND ALSO DR.

CHRISTA SLEJKO TO COME UP AS WELL.

YOU WANT ME TO DO THIS? YEAH. SO LET ME MENTION THAT THE DALLAS COLLEGE MOUNTAIN VIEW LADY LIONS BASKETBALL TEAM HAS A RECORD OF 12 AND NINE THIS SEASON.

THEY HOLD TITLES AS THE 2223 DALLAS ATHLETIC CONFERENCE CHAMPIONS AND THE 2223 NJC DOUBLE A DIVISION THREE BASKETBALL CHAMPIONS.

[00:40:02]

AND THEN ALSO MENTIONED JUST A BIT NORTH OF MOUNTAIN VIEW, THE NORTH LAKE MEN'S BASKETBALL TEAM HAS A RECORD OF 25 AND EIGHT THIS SEASON.

THEY ALSO HOLD TITLES AS THE 2223 DALLAS ATHLETIC CONFERENCE CHAMPIONS AND THE 2223 NJCAA DIVISION THREE MEN'S BASKETBALL SOUTH CENTRAL DISTRICT CHAMPIONS.

SO I'D LIKE TO AGAIN ASK DOCTOR JOSEPH AND DOCTOR PSYCHO TO COME UP AND SHARE ALONG WITH WITH OUR ATHLETIC DIRECTOR, SONIA JONES. THANK YOU, CHANCELLOR.

AND AGAIN, IT'S MY PLEASURE TO BE HERE TODAY.

IT SEEMS TO HAVE BEEN A GOOD DAY FOR FOR STUDENT SUCCESS.

LIKE I SAID, THANK Y'ALL FOR HAVING US.

IT'S A BLESSING TO BE HERE.

SAME QUESTION.

WHERE ARE YOU TRANSFERRING TO? UH, I HAVEN'T DECIDED YET.

AND AGAIN, THAT CONCLUDES FOR OUR TEAM IN MOUNTAIN VIEW.

DALLAS COLLEGE MOUNTAIN VIEW.

LADY LIONS. THANKS AGAIN.

SWAGIT DISTRICT. SOUTH CENTRAL DISTRICT NATION.

THANKS AGAIN. ALL RIGHT.

THANK YOU. AND LET'S DO A PICTURE.

PICTURE? SURE.

LET'S. YEAH. OKAY.

BUT SHE DID IT BACK TO BACK.

THEY'RE GOING TO BE.

FOR. SO I AM PLEASED TO BRING UP THE END OF OUR STUDENT RECOGNITIONS FOR THE DAY.

I GUESS IT WOULDN'T BE FAIR TO SAY THE BEST FOR LAST, BUT SO HAPPY TO BE ABLE TO BRING YOUR NORTHLAKE BLAZER BASKETBALL GUYS BACK. WE HAVE A LONG LEGACY OF STRONG BASKETBALL TEAMS AND I WANT TO NOTE THAT THIS IS HEAD COACH JOSH MILLS FIRST YEAR AND ALREADY TAKING A TEAM TO THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP.

SO FIRST YEAR HEAD COACH.

HE'S BEEN WITH US FOR A LITTLE WHILE.

SO ATHLETIC DIRECTOR GREG SUMMERS IS ACTUALLY SERVING AS OUR HEAD BASEBALL COACH RIGHT NOW.

SO HE WAS UNABLE TO BE WITH US.

SO WITH NO FURTHER ADO, I'LL BRING JOSH MILLS UP SO HE CAN INTRODUCE HIS ASSISTANT COACH AND THE TEAM AND GIVE YOU A FEW HIGHLIGHTS.

THANK YOU. YEAH.

GOOD AFTERNOON, Y'ALL. FIRST, I JUST WANT TO THANK YOU GUYS FOR ALLOWING ME THE OPPORTUNITY TO COACH THESE YOUNG MEN.

UH, THEY DID A TREMENDOUS JOB.

THEY COME HERE, YOU KNOW, THEY ALL FIGHT FOR.

[00:50:01]

TO EARN BASKETBALL SCHOLARSHIPS.

AND THAT'S WHAT THEY CAME HERE TO DO, WIN CHAMPIONSHIPS AND EARN SCHOLARSHIPS.

AND SO, I MEAN, FOR MY FIRST TEAM, YOU COULDN'T ASK FOR A BETTER GROUP OF GUYS.

UH, SO WITHOUT FURTHER ADO, I'LL GO AHEAD AND INTRODUCE THESE GUYS.

DARREN JONES, HE WAS THE HE WAS SECOND TEAM, ALL-AMERICAN, FIRST TEAM, ALL CONFERENCE MVP OF THE CONFERENCE.

UH, NEXT TO HIM.

BY THE WAY, THESE FIRST FOUR GUYS, THEY WERE ON THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM FROM LAST YEAR.

SO DARREN WON A NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP.

DARREN WON A NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP.

WHO'S THE NEXT PERSON? HE WAS AN HONORABLE MENTION ALL CONFERENCE.

HE WAS THE MOST IMPROVED PLAYER OF THE YEAR.

UH BRICK.

WON A NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP WITH US LAST YEAR.

UH, ROYAL MAN WON ONE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP WITH WITH US LAST YEAR.

BRANDON LAWRENCE TRANSFERRED IN FROM ANOTHER SCHOOL TO BE WITH US BECAUSE HE WANTED TO TRY TO WIN A NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP.

RYAN PANDIT, SAME THING.

SO RYAN'S A REAL INTERESTING STORY.

HE WAS WITH US DURING THE COVID YEAR WHENEVER WE DIDN'T KNOW IF WE WERE GOING TO HAVE A SEASON OR NOT.

WE HELPED GET HIM A SCHOLARSHIP TO OKLAHOMA WESLEYAN.

HE CAME BACK TO TRY TO MOVE ON TO ANOTHER SCHOOL, WHICH HE'S GOING TO DO.

DAKARI, FOR HIS DAD, PLAYED FOR COACH MCGRAW AT NORTH LAKE, SO THAT'S FUN TO HAVE HIM.

HE'S A FRESHMAN.

LOOKING FORWARD TO HAVING HIM BACK.

JESSE BRICK, ALSO A FRESHMAN.

EVAN WHALEN, ALSO A FRESHMAN, AND THEN OUR ONE OF OUR ASSISTANT COACHES, AISHA JACKSON, HELPED OUT A TON WITH US THIS YEAR.

SHE HAS A BRIGHT, BRIGHT FUTURE AHEAD OF HER.

AND THEN A COUPLE PEOPLE THAT AREN'T HERE IS ALLEN SMITH, WHO WAS AN ASSISTANT WITH US THE PAST COUPLE YEARS.

SO HE WAS PART OF THAT NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM.

AND KOBE FARLEY, TODAY IS HIS FIRST DAY OF WORK AT CHIPOTLE.

I'LL TELL HIM, KOBE, YOU BETTER NOT BE LATE FOR WORK.

YOU KNOW, UH, DR.

LANDON, I KNOW YOU HAD A CHANCE TO STOP BY YET, BUT WE ACTUALLY HAVE A NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP RING FOR YOU FROM.

THANK. BECAUSE WE DON'T CARE.

GOOD AFTERNOON. MY NAME IS DARREN WILLIAMS. I'M A SOPHOMORE AT NORTH LAKE.

IT WAS JUST A GREAT YEAR.

COMING BACK AFTER LAST YEAR, WE WON THE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP.

WE DIDN'T GET TO WIN IT AGAIN THIS YEAR, BUT I STILL HAD A GREAT GROUP OF GUYS, YOU KNOW, DID A LOT OF GREAT RELATIONSHIPS HERE.

AND, YOU KNOW, IT'S JUST A NORTH.

IT WAS A GREAT PLACE TO BE AT.

AND YEAH, THANK YOU.

DO SOME DAMAGE WITH THIS ONE.

WELL, CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OF YOU.

THANK YOU. REPRESENTATIVE DALLAS COLLEGE AND COACH, THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING YOU DO TO SUPPORT THESE YOUNG MEN.

AND YEAH, MAKE SURE YOU PASS THAT RING BACK DOWN HERE.

VERY NICE RING. THANK YOU.

ALL RIGHT, WE'RE GOING TO FIND THE FLOOR.

THERE YOU GO. COME ON UP.

LET'S GET A PICTURE. THANKS SO MUCH.

WOW.

[00:56:17]

WHICH IS OKAY.

SO WE WILL NOW MOVE ON TO CHANCELLOR AND BOARD ANNOUNCEMENTS.

[6. Chancellor and Board Announcements]

CHANCELLOR. WELL, THANK YOU, MADAM CHAIR, AND THANKS TO ALL OF OUR OUR STUDENTS THAT WERE HERE.

WE'RE PROUD OF EVERYTHING THAT WE DO.

AND WE'VE GOT A COUPLE OF OTHER THINGS I WANT TO MENTION.

ONE IS THAT DR.

WILKINS AND I WERE RECENTLY IN WASHINGTON, D.C., WHERE WE WERE RECOGNIZED ALONG WITH DALLAS WORKFORCE SOLUTIONS BY THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF WORKFORCE BOARDS FOR THE COLLABORATIVE WORK THAT WE DO TOGETHER TO ADDRESS THE WORKFORCE IMPERATIVE IN DALLAS COUNTY.

WE HAVE A LONG HISTORY AND ASSOCIATION WITH WITH THE WORKFORCE SOLUTIONS.

OUR FOUNDING CHANCELLOR, BILL J.

PRIEST, ONE OF OUR FORMER TRUSTEES, BOB FERGUSON, WERE ONE OF THE THE FOUNDERS OF THE PRECURSOR OF WHAT IS WORKFORCE SOLUTIONS.

AND SO OUR TWO INSTITUTIONS HAVE BEEN CLOSELY LINKED FOR A LONG TIME.

AND WE'VE BEEN LUCKY HERE IN THE DALLAS AREA FOR 34 YEARS TO HAVE LAURIE LAURIA LEAD THAT GROUP, WHICH I'M PRIVILEGED TO SERVE ON THE ON THE BOARD OF IT, AS HAVE MY PREDECESSORS.

AND SO IT'S IT'S GREAT TO SEE THE SPIRIT IN WHICH OUR TWO INSTITUTIONS WORK TOGETHER TO ADDRESS THE WORKFORCE CHALLENGES HERE IN OUR COMMUNITY.

SO I'D LIKE TO ASK DR.

WILKINS AND LAURIE TO PLEASE COME ON UP AND AND SHARE A LITTLE BIT ABOUT THE AWARD THAT WE RECEIVED.

AND AND AGAIN, ALSO JUST WANT TO SAY JUST A PERSONAL NOTE OF WHAT A PLEASURE IT IS TO WORK WITH LAURIE AND HER TEAM AND EVERYTHING THAT WE WE DO TOGETHER.

SO, LAURIE, GLAD YOU'RE HERE.

THANK YOU SO MUCH.

THANK YOU FOR MAKING THIS NIGHT MY NIGHT TO.

I JUST I WAS AFRAID I WOULD HAVE TO FOLLOW FRANCIE.

IT WAS AMAZING.

IT REALLY WAS. THANK YOU SO MUCH.

UM, YES, I'VE BEEN HERE FOR ALMOST ALL OF THIS.

I'M IN MY NINTH MAYOR.

I GO ALL THE WAY BACK TO ANNETTE STRAUSS, AND I WAS THERE WHEN GLENN DOWNS WAS RAISING THE MONEY TO GET THE BILL CHASE PRIEST INSTITUTE OFF THE GROUND.

AND WHEN THE LA CROIX CENTER WAS DOING VIRTUAL WORK BEFORE IT WAS FASHIONABLE.

UM, WATCHED ALL OF THIS AND WE WATCHED THE EBB AND FLOW.

BUT I WILL TELL YOU, IN THE LAST TEN YEARS, I THINK WE GOT THE HANG OF IT AND WE HAVE A SUSTAINABLE MODEL.

I DON'T THINK WE UNDERSTAND HOW UNIQUE THE RELATIONSHIP IS.

OTHER AREAS OF THE COUNTRY DO NOT EXPERIENCE THE COORDINATION BETWEEN A WORKFORCE BOARD AND COMMUNITY COLLEGES.

THERE IS FRICTION, THERE IS COMPETITION, THERE IS DISTRUST, THERE IS WHERE'S THE MONEY? AND WE, THROUGH ALL THESE MANY, MANY YEARS, HAVE NOW TRANSCENDED ALL OF THAT TO JUST TALK ABOUT WHAT'S IMPORTANT.

AND IT'S EVERYBODY YOU SAW HERE TONIGHT AND IT'S THE DALLAS COMMUNITY.

WE BOTH SHARE THE DALLAS COUNTY FOOTPRINT.

THERE'S NOT ROOM FOR ALL OF THAT OTHER STUFF.

BUT I HAVE TO TELL YOU, IT'S RELATIONSHIP BASED.

WE ARE FRIENDS.

WE ARE ALLIES. WE KNOW HOW TO FIGHT.

WE KNOW HOW TO AGREE.

WE KNOW HOW TO COMPROMISE.

AND I COULDN'T HAVE ASKED FOR A BETTER RELATIONSHIP ALL THESE YEARS.

IT WAS WONDERFUL, THOUGH, THAT THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF WORKFORCE BOARDS ACTUALLY CREATED AN AWARD ABOUT 2 TO 3 YEARS AGO, RECOGNIZING EXEMPLARY COORDINATION BETWEEN THESE TWO MAJOR FORCES OF FINANCIAL INVESTMENT, IF NOTHING ELSE, BUT OF TALENT AND SKILL IN THE WORKFORCE ARENA.

SO I WANT TO STEAL PIPER'S THUNDER, BUT I WILL TELL YOU WHAT THE AWARD SAYS.

[01:00:02]

IT'S A PLAQUE, WHICH IS FINE.

IT WAS IT WAS EASY TO CARRY HOME, YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN? YOU GOT TO CHECK THESE THINGS.

CRYSTAL MIGHT HAVE BROKEN NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF WORKFORCE BOARDS, WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT BOARD AND COMMUNITY COLLEGE EXCELLENCE IN PARTNERSHIP AND COLLABORATION PRESENTED IN GRATITUDE TO WORKFORCE SOLUTIONS.

GREATER DALLAS DALLAS COMMUNITY COLLEGE FOR OUTSTANDING LEADERSHIP IN THE COMMUNITY 2023.

WHAT MAKES IT SPECIAL IN THE LAST TEN YEARS IS THE WORK TO PULL.

AND THIS GOES TO JOE MAY.

THIS GOES TO GLORIA SMITH PIPER TO PULL THE ADULT ED SYSTEM AWAY FROM PUBLIC ED K THROUGH 12 AND PUT IT WHERE IT BELONGED ALL ALONG.

IT GIVES RISE TO MY COMMENTS IN WASHINGTON, WHICH IS WE SHOULD DO THIS THROUGHOUT THE NATION.

WORKFORCE EDUCATION SHOULD INCLUDE ADULT ED AND ESL AND CITIZENSHIP.

IT IS NOT JUST AN APPENDAGE TO YOUR K THROUGH 12 EDUCATION.

IT'S A MATTER OF CONTINUITY, IF YOU WOULD.

WE GOT THAT IN HAND.

WE'VE HAD EIGHT GOOD YEARS OF ADULT ED DESPITE COVID IN THAT WE'VE ALSO PARTNERED WITH YOU IN CHILD CARE.

THE FLOURISH OF ROBERT HAAS AND THE INSTITUTE, EARLY CHILD DEVELOPMENT BRINGING MORE AND MORE MONEY.

COUNTLESS FEDERAL GRANTS THAT YOU, THE COLLEGE, HAVE BROUGHT TO TOWN AND PARTNERED WITH US MORE THAN I CAN COUNT.

SIGNED BY STATE COMMISSIONERS.

BUT MY HOPE IS THAT AND I AM STEPPING AWAY FROM MY JOB, I GET EMOTIONAL AFTER 34 YEARS.

IT'S TOUGH, GUYS.

IT'S TOUGH. BUT BUT FOR SIX MONTHS I WILL BE DOING SOMETHING ELSE, WHICH HOPEFULLY WILL BE AS GRATIFYING AS THIS HAS BEEN.

BUT THIS IS SOMETHING THAT HAS TO CONTINUE AND I HOPE YOU WILL SEE TO IT WHOMEVER IS IN THE MY PRESIDENT'S JOB, WHOEVER IS, YOU KNOW, PIPER'S OR JUSTIN, PLEASE CONTINUE THIS COLLABORATION.

IT'S SO CRITICAL AND IT IS SO UNIQUE.

YOU HAVE NO IDEA.

THANK YOU FOR HAVING ME TONIGHT.

AND SORRY FOR THE TEARS.

OKAY. WELL, THANK YOU, LORI, FOR THAT.

AND THANKS FOR THE PARTNERSHIP AND FOR THE 34 YEARS YOU'VE GIVEN THIS COMMUNITY.

THANK YOU. TAKE A PHOTO.

THANK YOU. STAY BACK THERE, SLADY. OH, WOW.

HERE WE GO. THAT'S NICE.

THANK YOU.

WELL, SPEAKING OF AWARDS, I DID ALSO JUST WANT TO MENTION QUICKLY THAT OUR CHAIRMAN OR I'M SORRY, OUR CHANCELLOR EMERITUS, DR.

MAY, RECEIVED AN AWARD OVER THE WEEKEND AT THE ASSOCIATION OF COMMUNITY COLLEGES.

IT WAS THE LEADERSHIP AWARD FOR 2023.

AND SO CERTAINLY THE WORK AND THE FOOTPRINT THAT HE LEFT HERE IN DALLAS, ALONG WITH HIS WORK IN LOUISIANA AND COLORADO AND HIS LIFETIME OF COMMITMENT TO COMMUNITY COLLEGES IS INDICATIVE OF THAT AWARD.

I KNOW FOR CERTAIN THAT HE'S NOT WATCHING THIS THING AND HASN'T IN ABOUT 13 MONTHS, BUT BUT CERTAINLY DID WANT TO WISH HIM CONGRATULATIONS ON THAT HONOR AND RECEIVING THAT AWARD.

AND AGAIN, IT'S A GREAT REFLECTION ON DALLAS COLLEGE AND THE WORK AND LEGACY THAT HE LEFT HERE.

AND THEN I ALSO WANTED TO MENTION QUICKLY, WE'VE GOT GRADUATION COMING UP.

AND SO TO THOSE THAT ARE LISTENING OUT THERE, OUR EMPLOYEES, WE STILL NEED SOME VOLUNTEERS, SO ENCOURAGE YOU TO SUPPORT THAT.

OUR GRADUATION CEREMONIES ARE THE CULMINATION OF EVERYTHING THAT WE ALL DO TO HELP HELP SUPPORT THOSE STUDENTS WALK ACROSS THAT STAGE.

SO I KNOW WE'RE ALL LOOKING FORWARD TO THAT.

AND THEN FINALLY, I JUST WANT TO MENTION A COUPLE OF PERSONNEL THINGS.

WE'VE GOT A COUPLE OF NEW TEAM MEMBERS THAT I'D LIKE TO ASK DR.

BRAD WILLIAMS TO COME UP AND INTRODUCE.

AS YOU KNOW, A COUPLE OF MONTHS AGO, BRAD TOOK ON ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES AS THE VICE CHANCELLOR OF OPERATIONS, ALONG WITH HIS PRESENT ROLE AT EL CENTRO.

[01:05:09]

AND SO HE'S BROUGHT ON A COUPLE OF NEW TEAM MEMBERS THAT I WANTED TO INTRODUCE.

SO. DR. WILLIAMS. I BROUGHT MY CROWN.

I DO FEEL OLD BECAUSE MY NOTES ARE ON PAPER.

MOST OF THESE STUDENTS WERE ON THEIR PHONES RIGHT NOW.

SO WE'VE HEARD A LOT OF INCREDIBLE STORIES TODAY ABOUT HOW THE SYSTEM IS CHANGING LIVES.

AND WHAT'S WHAT'S IMPORTANT ABOUT THAT IS THERE'S PROFESSIONALS IN THE COMMUNITY WHO WANT TO BE PART OF THIS.

AND THE TWO THAT I'M GOING TO INTRODUCE TODAY, THEY'LL STAND AND KIND OF WAVE.

THEIR HANDS ARE VERY IMPORTANT ADDITIONS TO THE TEAM.

THE FIRST IS DOROTHY JONES, WHO JOINED US IN JANUARY AS OUR CHIEF MARKETING OFFICER.

I SAW EVERY TIME I MENTION THESE NAMES BECAUSE THERE'S A LOT OF WORK THAT DURING THE INTERIM PERIODS THAT WE WERE DOING SOME REALLY HEAVY LIFTS.

AND SO IT'S GREAT TO HAVE THESE PEOPLE WITH US.

BUT DOROTHY HAS A DISTINGUISHED CAREER IN CORPORATE MARKETING SERVING BRANDS SUCH AS FRITO-LAY, NESTLÉ, INTERSTATE BATTERIES, THE SUSAN G.

KOMEN BREAST CANCER FOUNDATION AND SALLY BEAUTY.

SHE'S GOT A LOT OF EXPERIENCE AND A LOT OF AREAS.

ONE THING THAT'S REALLY EXCITING, THOUGH, IS IS HER BACKGROUND AND KNOWLEDGE IN THE DIGITAL DOMAIN.

AND AS WE HAVE THOSE TOOLS THAT ARE AVAILABLE, WE'RE CERTAINLY EXCITED ABOUT HOW WE'RE GOING TO BE ABLE TO ACTIVATE A LOT OF NEW TECHNOLOGY TO COMMUNICATE WITH OUR STAKEHOLDERS AND OUR PROSPECTIVE STUDENTS AND OUR STUDENTS AS WELL.

SO DOROTHY, THANK YOU FOR BEING HERE.

THE SECOND ONE ALSO IS LEWIS BURRELL, WHO'S OUR ACTING CHIEF HUMAN RESOURCE OFFICER.

LEWIS AND AGAIN, WHEN I MENTIONED THE PROFESSIONAL PEDIGREES OF EACH OF THESE, THESE ARE VERY IMPORTANT PEOPLE IN THE COMMUNITY WITH A LOT OF EXPERIENCE.

AND THEY WANT TO COME BE PART OF WHAT WE'RE DOING AT DALLAS COLLEGE.

AND THE STORIES THAT YOU'RE HEARING TODAY, THERE'S GOING TO CONTINUE TO BE A FLOOD OF PEOPLE WHO WANT TO BE PART OF THIS.

IT'S IT'S IT'S IT'S HARD WORK PROFESSIONALLY, BUT IT'S HARD.

IT'S HARD WORK, TOO, AS WAS DISCUSSED EARLIER.

BUT LEWIS JOINS DALLAS COLLEGE AFTER SERVING AS CHIEF ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER FOR ARIZONA BASED HEALTH CARE TRUST OF AMERICA, WHICH IS THE LARGEST DEDICATED OWNER AND OPERATOR OF MEDICAL OFFICE BUILDINGS IN THE UNITED STATES.

SO LET'S TALK ABOUT OTHER EXPERIENCES HERE AS WELL.

OVER THE COURSE OF HIS EXPERIENCE, HE HAS DEVELOPED TALENT AND PARTNERED WITH EXECUTIVE LEADERS AND GLOBAL COMPANIES SUCH AS BOEING AND FRITO-LAY AND THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY.

HE HOLDS AN MBA IN HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEMS AND A BACHELORS IN COMPUTER SCIENCE.

WHAT IS VERY IMPORTANT ABOUT LEWIS, THOUGH, TO ME, HE'S BEEN PART OF THREE WORKDAY IMPLEMENTATIONS, RIGHT? SO SO WHEN WE START TALKING ABOUT HOW WE'RE MOVING THE ENTIRE SYSTEM ONTO THE NEW PLATFORM AND ALL OF THE PROCESS THAT GOES ALONG WITH THAT, THAT OTHER KNOWLEDGE AND THE TECH BASED ARENA BECOMES VERY, VERY IMPORTANT TO HOW WE CONTINUE TO BUILD EFFICIENCIES AND INCREASE PRODUCTIVITY AND AGILITY OF THE SYSTEM.

SO AGAIN, I THANK YOU BOTH FOR BEING WITH US AND THANKS FOR LETTING ME INTRODUCE HIM TODAY.

YEAH, THANK YOU, BRAD. AND THANK YOU BOTH FOR JOINING THE DALLAS COLLEGE FAMILY.

MADAM CHAIR, THAT CONCLUDES MY REMARKS.

THANK YOU. DO WE HAVE ANY TRUSTEES WHO HAVE ANY ANNOUNCEMENTS? NO. OKAY.

I JUST HAVE A COUPLE LIKE NORMAL.

I WANT TO SAY THANK YOU TO THOSE OF YOU WHO ATTENDED THE WALKING IN HER SHOES EVENT THAT WE HAD LAST WEEK.

I THINK IT WAS LAST WEEK OR TWO WEEKS AGO AT EASTFIELD CAMPUS.

IT WAS PART OF WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH.

WE HAD OVER 100 PEOPLE WHO LIVE STREAMED AS WELL AS ATTENDED IN PERSON.

SO THANK YOU FOR THOSE OF YOU, HOPEFULLY YOU GOT SOMETHING OUT OF THAT PANEL.

ALSO, I WANTED TO CONGRATULATE CHANCELLOR LENNON, WHO WAS NAMED A PARAGON PRESIDENT AWARD WINNER FROM THE PHI THETA KAPPA HONOR SOCIETY. THIS AWARD RECOGNIZES NEW COLLEGE PRESIDENTS, CAMPUS CEOS OR CHANCELLORS FOR THEIR OUTSTANDING SUPPORT OF STUDENT SUCCESS AND FOR PROVIDING HIGH QUALITY LEARNING ENVIRONMENTS FOR BOTH BOTH INSIDE AND OUTSIDE THE CLASSROOM.

I THINK WE ALL KNOW THAT WHY YOU GOT IT.

AND WE THANK YOU FOR BEING A CHAMPION AND ADVOCATE FOR STUDENT SUCCESS.

THANK YOU. AND IT IS MY ESTEEMED HONOR TO ALSO RECOGNIZE OUR RETIREES WHO HAVE SPENT MANY YEARS HELPING OUR STUDENTS GROW AND PREPARING THEM FOR THE NEXT PHASE OF LIFE.

AND PLEASE JOIN ME IN RECOGNIZING THIS MONTH'S RETIREES.

WE HAVE FOUR LINDA GRAY, 40 YEARS OF SERVICE.

MARY BURNELL R.BERNAL 18 YEARS OF SERVICE.

GEORGEANN MOSS 24 YEARS OF SERVICE AND MINI OWENS.

21 YEARS OF SERVICE.

THANK YOU TO THE TO EVERYONE WHO HAS CONTRIBUTED TO THE SUCCESS OF DALLAS COLLEGE, AND WE WISH YOU WELL.

[01:10:02]

OKAY. AND WITH THAT, I WILL MOVE ON TO ITEM SEVEN.

OPPORTUNITY FOR MEMBERS OF THE BOARD AND THE CHANCELLOR TO DECLARE A CONFLICT OF INTEREST SPECIFIC TO THIS AGENDA.

DOES ANYONE HAVE A CONFLICT OF INTEREST TO DECLARE? OKAY, THEN WE WILL MOVE ON TO ITEM EIGHT THE CONSENT AGENDA.

[8. Consent Agenda]

WE HAVE THREE ITEMS ON THE CONSENT AGENDA.

I WILL ENTERTAIN A MOTION TO APPROVE THE CONSENT AGENDA.

SO MOVED. TRUSTEE SECOND.

THANK YOU. UH, THIS ITEMS EIGHT ONE THROUGH EIGHT THREE.

EXACTLY. YES.

OKAY. UM, DO WE NEED ANY DISCUSSION ON ANY OF THESE ITEMS? NO. OKAY, THEN WE WILL GO AHEAD AND VOTE.

ALL IN FAVOR. PLEASE SAY AYE.

AYE. ALL OPPOSED.

PLEASE SAY NAY. ANY ABSTENTIONS? OKAY. AND THE CONSENT AGENDA PASSES.

AND I WOULD JUST LIKE TO SAY TO THANK YOU TO MY FELLOW BOARD MEMBERS FOR SUPPORTING THE CHANGES TO OUR PARENTAL LEAVE POLICY.

I KNOW THAT MANY OF OUR EMPLOYEES WILL BE VERY GRATEFUL FOR THIS CHANGE.

SO THANK YOU. AND WE HAVE ONE INDIVIDUAL ITEM, 9.1.

[9. Policy Items - First Reading]

CAN I GET A MOTION TO APPROVE THIS ITEM? ITS FIRST READING. ITS FIRST. ITS FIRST READING.

SORRY, I WANT TO KEEP VOTING.

UM, OKAY. SO THIS IS FOR FIRST READING.

DO WE HAVE ANY COMMENTS SUGGESTIONS ON THIS ITEM? NO. IF NOT, YOUR CONTACT FOR THIS IS ROB AND TRICIA.

AN ITEM TEN INFORMATIVE REPORTS.

[10. Informative Reports]

I'M QUICKLY LOSING MY QUORUM, SO WE HAVE A QUORUM.

SO ANY COMMENTS ON ANY OF THE INFORMATIVE REPORTS? IF NOT, YOU KNOW, EVERY ITEM HAS THEIR RESOURCE ON THERE.

WE DO NOT NEED AN EXECUTIVE SESSION TODAY.

AND SO WITH THAT, IT IS 530.

THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES IS NOW ADJOURNED.
