IN ACCORDANCE WITH CHAPTER 551 OF THE TEXAS OPEN MEETINGS ACT I CALL TO ORDER THE SPECIAL BOARD MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF DALLAS COLLEGE FOR MAY 17, 2022 AT 2:03 P.M.

MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC WHO HAVE FOLLOWED THE INSTRUCTIONS ON THE DALLAS COLLEGE BOARD OF TRUSTEES WEBSITE FOR REGISTERING TO SPEAK DURING THE PUBLIC COMMENT PORTION WILL BE GIVEN 5 MINUTES TO SPEAK.

THIS BOARD MEETING IS BEING BROADCAST OVER THE INTERNET.

A RECORDING IS BEING MADE AND WILL BE AVAILABLE TO THE PUBLIC ON THE BOARD'S WEBSITE AFTER THE MEETING AT A LATER DATE.

IN THIS AGENDA WE HAVE ITEM 4.1 WHICH REQUIRES APPROVAL OF THE RESOLUTION CANVASSING RETURNS AND DECLARING ELECTION RESULTS OF THE MAY 7, 2022 ELECTION.

TRUSTEE'S AGENDA ITEM 4.1.

EACH OF YOU HAS RECEIVED COPIES OF THE FOLLOWING.

RESOLUTION CANVASSING RETURNS AND PRECINCT ELECTION RETURNS FOR THE MAY 7, 2022 BOARD OF TRUSTEES ELECTIONS AS RECEIVED FROM DALLAS COUNTY ELECTIONS DEPARTMENT.

ONCE APPROVED BY THE BOARD THEY WILL BECOME THE OFFICIAL RESULTS OF THE MAY 7, 2022 ELECTION.

INCLUDED IN THE RETURNS IS A TABULATION FOR EACH CANDIDATE IN EACH OF THE TRUSTEE DISTRICTS 1, 2 AND 3 PROVIDING THE TOTAL NUMBER OF VOTES IN EACH PRECINCT THE SUM OF THE PRECINCT VOTES TABULATED AND THAT TOTAL OF EACH PRECINCT TO CAST A BALLOT FOR CANDIDATE.

ACCORDING TO THE DALLAS COLLEGE REPORTS THE RESULT OF THE ELECTION ARE AS FOSSILS.

TOTAL VOTES CAST IN DISTICT 3 ,10,865.

PAUL MAIR RECEIVED 7,189 OR 66.17 PERCENT OF THE VOTES.

ASSOCIATE JOHN RECEIVED 676 OR 33.83 PERCENT OF THE VOTES CAST.

UNDER TEXAS LAW A CANDIDATE MUST RECEIVE A MAJORITY OF THE VOTES THAT IS GREATER THAN 50 PERCENT.

FOR THE POSITION TO BE DECLARED ELECTED.

IN DISTRICT 3 MR. MAIR RECEIVED THE MAJORITY OF VOTES CAST.

THE TOTAL VOTES CAST 62 459.

EUGENE J ROBINSON RECEIVED 5523 OR 33.56 PERCENT OF THE VOTES.

PHIL RITTER RECEIVED 10,000 OR 66.44 PERCENT OF THE VOTES CAST.

UNDER TEXAS LAW A CANDIDATE MUST RECEIVE MAJORITY OF THE VOTES CAST FOR THE POSITION BE ELECTRIC.

DISTRICT 3 MR. RITTER RECEIVED MAJORITY OF THE VOTES CAST.

TOTAL VOTES CAST IN DISTRICT ONE FOR THE UNEXPIRED TERM WAS 16,541 VOTES.

LYNN DAVENPORT RECEIVED 5307 OR 32.08 PERCENT OF THE VOTES CAST.

CATALINA E GARCIA RECEIVED 5942 OR 35.92 PERCENT OF THE VOTES CAST.

RICHARD WILLIAMS RECEIVED 5292 A 31.99 PERCENT OF THE VOTES CAST.

UNDER TEXAS LAW A CANDIDATE MUST RECEIVE MAJORITY OF THE VOTES.

NO CANDIDATE IN DISTRICT 1 RECEIVED A MAJORITY OF THE VOTES CAST.

A RUNOFF IS INDICATED.

IN ADDITION THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE SECOND AND THIRD PLACE CANDIDATES IN DISTRICT 1 IS LESS THAN 10 PERCENT WHICH IS ENOUGH TO PROVIDE GROUNDS FOR A RECOUNT.

IF REQUESTED IN ACCORDANCE WITH APPLICABLE LAW.

FINALLY THIS BODY ORDERED AN ELECTION TO A CURRENT DISTRICT OF 4 ON MAY 7 2022 AS A CANDIDATE IN DISTRICT 4, MONICA LIRA BRAVO WHO WAS UNOPPOSED IN 2022.

THIS BODY CANCELED THE ELECTION AND DECLARED MS. LIRA BRAVO ELECTED.

INCLUDING THE PRECINCT ELECTION RETURNS AND THE COMPANY RECORDS OF THE ELECTION YOU MAY MAKE A MOTION TO APPROVE THE RESOLUTION AND THE RETURNS.

WE ALSO HAVE ITEM 4.2 WHICH REQUIRES APPROVAL OF THE RESOLUTION ORDERING AND GIVING NOTICE OF THE JUNE 18, 2022 RUNOFF ELECTION IN TRUSTEE DISTRICT 1 UNEXPIRED TERM.

MISS HORATIO WE YOU PLEASE SHARE WITH THE BOARD THE PERTINENT DETAILS ON THIS ITEM.

>> UNDER TEXAS LAW ONLY CANDIDATE RECEIVED A MAJORITY OF THE VOTES CAST FOR ALL CANDIDATES COULD BE DECLARED ELECTED.

AS NOTED UNDER THE PREVIOUS AGENDA ITEM NONE OF THE CANDIDATES IN DISTRICT 1 RECEIVED SUCH A MAJORITY.
