WE HAVE COMPLETED THAT.

WE ARE INVESTING NEEDS TO MEET INDIVIDUAL STUDENTS, EMPLOYERS AND HAVING THE IMPACT THAT WE WERE INTENDED TO HAVE ON OUR COMMUNITY.

IT REALLY IS A SHIFT FROM INSTITUTIONAL FOCUS TO MEETING THE NEEDS AND USING OUR RESOURCES TO MEET THE NEEDS OF OTHERS AND BEING STEWARDS OF THOSE RESOURCES IN THE PROCESS.

SO WE'LL HAVE AN OPPORTUNITY AS WE GO THROUGH TODAY AND TOMORROW FOR I THINK INSIGHT, CONVERSATION, AND THE ABILITY TO REALLY, I THINK HOPEFULLY BOARD MEMBERS, CHALLENGE US ON WHAT WE ARE DOING AS WE THEN RECHANNEL OUR RESOURCES IN BOTH OUR TALENT, WHO WE HIRE, WHO WE RETAIN, OUR PERSONNEL POLICIES, OUR FACILITIES POLICIES, COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT POLICIES AND OUR BUSINESS POLICIES IN THE FUTURE.

EXCITED ABOUT TAKING TIME TO FURTHER EXPLAIN WHAT HAS BEEN GOING ON BEHIND THE SCENES ACADEMIC AFFAIRS AS A PART OF OUR WORK FORCE AND EDUCATION COMMITTEE WE HAVE BEEN REINFORCING THE STRUCTURE AND HOW WE ARE SET UP INTO SEVEN SCHOOLS.

THIS PARTICULAR EFFORT SPANS ALL OF OUR SCHOOLS, ALL OF OUR ACADEMIC PROGRAMS, BOTH NON-CREDIT, CREDIT, AND WORK FORCE.

ADVANCEMENT PROFESSIONALS AS WELL AS STUDENT SUPPORT SERVICES AND STUDENT SUCCESS PROFESSIONALS THAT REPORT TO DR. ALSO HOW DO WE INSURE CURRICULUM IS TIMELY IN RESPONSE TO BUSINESS AND INDUSTRY.

WE HAVE BEEN DOING A LOT OF WORK.

IN THIS NEXT SLIDE, TIMELINE MILESTONES WE HAVE ESTABLISHED OVER THE LAST 11 MONTHS SINCE BECOMING DALLAS COLLEGE.

IT WAS ONLY 11 MONTHS AGO WE WERE ENGAGING IN SEVEN DIFFERENT REVIEW PROCESSES.

WE WERE SEVEN DIFFERENT COLLEGES COMPETING WITH THE SAME MARKET.

SHAWNDA MENTIONED THAT LED TO DUPLICATE OF PROGRAMS. DUPLICATE OF PROGRAMS CONFUSE STUDENTS.

THAT WAS OUR CULTURE BEFORE.

I THINK TO A LESSER DEGREE AS WELL.

A LOT OF THE OF OUR CURRICULAR DECISION SOLAR SYSTEM MADE LESS ON ROBUST DATA AND MORE AROUND ANECDOTAL INFORMATION.

THAT PAINTS A HISTORY OF WHERE WE STARTED 11 MONTHS AGO.

PERLA? WE HAVE BEEN ENGAGED IN ABOUT FOUR DIFFERENT AREAS.

NOTICE THE FIRST TIME LINE.

I KNOW WE HATE WHEN WE USE ACRONYMS AND DON'T KNOW WHAT THEY ARE.

WE WERE DELIBERATE IN SETTING UP THE STRUCTURE.

PAST CURRICULUM WAS SILENCED.

LOOKING AT THE ASSESSMENT LEVEL UNDERSTANDING IF STUDENTS ARE REALLY LEARNING.

AND IF THE LEARNING IS TIED TO SPECIFIC INDUSTRY NEED THERE WAS A REAL DISCONNECT.

FINALLY PROGRAM REVIEW DONE AT ALL SEVEN COLLEGES.

NEVER A STRONG COHESIVENESS ACROSS THOSE SPACES.

WE WERE DELIBERATE IN STEPPING UP THIS NEW CAPM OFFICE.

LET ME TALK ABOUT SOME OF THE ACTIONS IN THE LAST YEAR.

WE HAVEN'T LET IT SLOW US DOWN NEW PROGRAMS. MANY HAVE HEARD ABOUT THE TRUE PATHWAYS.

A LOT OF THAT WORK AND STAND THAT UP QUICKLY I AM TALKING WITHIN TWO MONTHS, BASED ON EARLIER WORK WE HAVE DONE.

I WILL TOUCH ON A FEW THINGS ON THIS SLIDE THEN JUMP TO THE NEXT SLIDE.

WE WORKED WITH THE COORDINATING BOARD.

WE WANTED TO GET AN UNDERSTANDING FROM THEM WHERE THEY SAW THE DUPLICATE PROGRAMS. WE WERE ABLE TO COALESCE -- THROUGHOUT THE FALL WE DID ENGAGE FACULTY ON WAYS TO LET ACADEMIC ASSESSMENT AND CURRICULUM INTERLINKED.

WE DID SEVERAL WORKSHOPS FOCUSSING ON HOW OUR CURRICULUM COMMITTEES WOULD STRUCTURE IN A RAPID PACE.

DIDN'T TAKE US LONG TO LAUNCH A NEW CURRICULUM PROCESS.

TO GIVE YOU CONTEXT, NOT ONLY WERE WE ADDRESSING CURRICULUM AT SEVEN DIFFERENT LOCATIONS, BUT FIVE ADMINISTRATIVE LAYERS.

WITH THE NEW STRUCTURE REDUCED THAT TO TWO.

CURRICULUM CHANGES DIRECTLY FROM FACULTY UP TO SCHOOL REVIEW COMMITTEE.

ONE OF THE UNIQUE THINGS, THEY ARE SCHOOL BASED.

YOU HAVE SUBJECT MATTER EXPERTS IN THAT SPACE WHO CAN BETTER RESPOND TO CURRICULUM NEEDS.

COUPLE OTHER KEY HIGHLIGHTS.

PART OF THE PROCESS WHEN WE WERE IDENTIFYING WHERE WE MIGHT HAVE PARTICULARLY DUPLICATIVE PROGRAMS. EXAMPLE OF NURSING, WE HAD THREE SEPARATE NURSING PROGRAMS. THREE SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT DEGREE PLANS ALL LEADING TO THE SAME KRE CREDENTIAL.

WE RECOGNIZED WE NEEDED TO GET THAT DOWN TO ONE DALLAS COLLEGE PROGRAM.

SOME PIECES IDENTIFIED EARLY ON.

OUR FACULTY HAVE BEEN RESPONDING WITH THEIR PLANS AN THEIR TIME LINES OF WHEN WE ARE GOING TO MOVE FROM THOSE NURSING FOR EXAMPLE, THREE PROGRAMS TO ONE.

FALL OF NEXT YEAR, DALLAS COLLEGE'S SINGLE NURSING PROGRAM.

MAKING THAT SYSTEM CLEAR AND TRANSPARENT AND TAKING TIME TO GIVE THEM INFORMATION THEY NEED TO TELL PROGRAM STORY AND BE ABLE TO MAKE THE KIND OF RECOMMENDATIONS THAT YOU SEE ON THE PROGRESS HERE.

WE WANT TO BE ABLE TO DO ALL OF THAT IN A ROBUST AND SYSTEMIC WAY ACROSS ALL OUR PROGRAMS, ACROSS ALL OF OUR SCHOOLS.

AS GREG SAID THAT HASN'T STOPPED US FROM MAKING PROGRESS REALLY EARLY ON.

CONSOLIDATION ITSELF PROMPTED CHANGES TO MOVE SOME PROGRAMS DOWN TO MORE FOCUSSED DALLAS PROGRAMS. EXCITING EXAMPLE IS OUR DIGITAL ART, MEDIA AND COMMUNICATIONS.

HAS WORK THEY HAVE DONE IN ALL THREE CATEGORIES.

THAT WORK WAS PROMPTED SIMPLY BY PROVIDING THE FACULTY WITH SOME DATA ABOUT THE STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT INFORMATION WE HAD ABOUT THOSE PROGRAMS. THESE RECOMMENDATIONS AND OUTCOMES ARE ALL THE FACULTY-DRIVEN RESPONSES TO THAT INFORMATION.

SO THEY HAVE DECIDED AS A GROUP, CONSOLIDATED CURRICULUM COMMITTEE AND IDENTIFIED HOW THEY WERE GOING TO RECALIBRATE AND REALIGN PROGRAMS TO MEET INDUSTRY AND INDUSTRY NEED WE DEFINITELY WANT TO SEE THE PROGRESS HAPPENING.

ALSO THE IMPORTANT THING IT BRINGS CLARITY TO OUR STUDENTS.

SUNSET, 11 DIFFERENT CREDENTIALS AND THREE DIFFERENT TRACKS, UX/UI.

THEY NOW HAVE THREE CLEAR TRACKS NOT ONLY MORE CLEAR FOR STUDENTS THEIR PATH TO COLLEAGUES.

ALSO MUCH CLEARER UNDERSTAND TO INDUSTRY AND A JOB AT THE END OF THE DAY.

SOMETIMES WHEN WE TALK ABOUT PROGRAM REVIEW, WE JUMP TO THINKING ABOUT WHAT PROGRAMS ARE GOING TO BE CLOSED.

THAT IS CERTAINLY ONE OF THE OUTCOMES OF PROGRAM REVIEW.

WE ALSO EXPECT TO SEE THE TRIGGERING OF THE EXPANSION OR DEVELOPMENT OF NEW PROGRAMS AS WELL.

AND THAT WE HAVE ALL OF THOSE THINGS WORKING TOGETHER SO THAT INSTEAD OF LOOKING AT THE CLOSURES AS AN EXIT FROM THAT SPACE, IT IS A RECALIBRATION AND GIVES OPPORTUNITY TO REINVEST THE WAYS WE ARE INVESTING IN FACULTY.

WE NOW HAVE THE SETTLE CENTER FOR EXCELLENCE IN TEACHING AND LEARNING.

THERE MAYBE AS A RESULT OF PROGRAM REVIEW IDENTIFICATION OF A NEW DIRECTION WE NEED TO GO WITH THE PROGRAM THAT MIGHT SIGNAL NEED FOR FACULTY PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT.

WE WOULD HAVE THAT REINVESTMENT IN SETTLE'S ACTIVITY ALSO ACADEMIC INCUBATOR WHICH CAN SUPPORT DEVELOPMENT AND EXPANSION OF NEW PROGRAMS. I AM VERY EXCITED ABOUT THIS PROGRESS, I THINK WHEN WE THINK ABOUT HISTORICALLY, WAYS WE MANAGED OUR CURRICULUM IN THE PAST.

NOT ONLY WAS IT AS WE KEEP SAYING, IT WAS MANAGED IN SEVEN DIFFERENT WAYS.

I THINK AS GREG SAID THE TIMELINE WAS JUST REALLY, REALLY CUMBERSOME TO GET THROUGH ALL OF THE LAYERS OF APPROVAL.

NOW IN JUST ONE ACADEMIC YEAR WITH ONE GROUP OF FACULTY TO HAVE SOME INFORMATION AND DATA TO RESPOND TO.

THEY CAME UP WITH A ROBUST WAY OF ADDRESSING THE BUSINESS AND INDUSTRY NEEDS THEY SEE IN THEIR AREA IN WAYS THAT HELP US GAIN A LOT OF EFFICIENCIES OVER TIME.

OTHER IMPORTANT THING TO NOTE HERE IS THAT EVEN THOUGH WE HAVE HAD THIS SIGNIFICANT CHANGE IN THAT CURRICULUM AREA WE ARE RETAINING ALL THE FULL-TIME

FACULTY MEMBERS.

WE ARE NOT EXISTING THAT SPACE, WE ARE RECALIBRATING IN THAT SPACE AND BE ABLE TO DEPLOY FACULTY MEMBERS AND CONTINUE TO TAKE CARE OF OUR STUDENTS AND HAVE COMPREHENSIVE TEACH OUT PLANS FOR ANYTHING SUN SETTED.

IT WILL TAKE PLACE ANYWHERE FROM ONE TO THREE YEARS AS WE PHASE THOSE OUT.

SO AS SHAWNDA IS GOING TO TELL US LITTLE MORE ABOUT THAT COMPREHENSIVE INTENTIONAL PROGRAM REVIEW WE ARE PLANNING FOR ALL OF THE PROGRAMS OF DALLAS COLLEGE, THIS IS TO HIGHLIGHT FOR YOU THAT PROGRESS WE HAVE MADE ORGANICALLY AS THE CONSOLIDATION PROCESS UNFOLDED.

SO THAT INDIVIDUAL IS THE ONE THAT WILL HELP NAVIGATE THE WORK OF ALL THE STUDENT SUCCESS STAFF THAT IS LOCATED IN EACH LOCATION, EACH CAMPUS.

IN TERMS OF THE PRECEDENCE ROLE, PART OF THE NEW ROLE AND HAS ALWAYS BEEN CAMPUS CULTURE, RIGHT? INSURING, I COUNT ON THEM TO SAY HEY, THIS IS WHAT WE ARE SEEING, THIS IS WHAT WE SEE WORKING, NOT WORKING.

THIS IS A TEAM.

THIS IS A TEAM EFFORT FOR US TO CONTINUE IMPROVEMENT WE NEED TO BE OPEN TO FEEDBACK.

AND ADDRESSING ANY ISSUES THAT MIGHT COME UP.

CONCEPT IS THAT EACH ASSOCIATE DEAN APPROXIMATELY FOR 20 SUCCESS COACHES.

MANY TIMES WE HAVE BEGUN TO RECEIVE FEEDBACK FROM PRESIDENTS SAYING HEY, WE HAVE X NUMBER OF JOBS.

WE ARE LOOKING FOR STUDENT WORKERS.

GROUNDED US TO A VERY ISOLATED WAY TO ADJUST TO LIFE AND EXPERIENCE WE HAD.

TODAY WE ARE SEEING THERE IS HOPE IN THESE NUMBERS CURRENTLY REFLECTING THREE TIMES OVER OUR AVERAGE FROM LAST YEAR.

THIS IS INDICATIVE AND ATTRIBUTED TO SUCCESS TEAM.

WE HAVE RETURNED TO FACE TO FACE ENGAGEMENT, SCHOOL DISTRICTS AND COMMUNITIES AND CAMPUSES.

RECURRING THEME ABOUT JOB LOSS AND OVERWHELMING COMMITMENTS TO JOB LOSSES.

TO ADDRESS SOME OF THEIR BARRIERS BY WAY OF OUR DIFFERENT SERVICE PROVISIONS PARTICULARLY IN THE AREAS OVERSEES BASIC NEEDS TALK MORE ABOUT THE CARES ACT.

STILL HAVING TROUBLE HAVING TO MAKE DECISIONS IN THEIR PERSONAL LIVES.

SPECIFICALLY WE HAD ONE STUDENT SAID THEY ARE STILL OUT OF WORK AND NAVIGATE THEIR PARTICULAR LIFE STYLE AND NEEDS OF THEIR FAMILY AND INDIVIDUAL NEEDS.

BALCH SPRINGS SUNNYVALE IS GROWING.

MIGHT HEAR IT CHOICE HIGH SCHOOL WILL OPEN THIS FALL.

IT IS UNLIKE A TRADITIONAL HIGH SCHOOL.

FOCUSES ON CAREER AND CERTIFICATE PATHWAYS.

DALLAS COLLEGE INTEGRATED IN THIS PROJECT SINCE THE BEGINNING BY PROVIDING GUIDANCE AND SCHOOL OF ACADEMIC SUPPORT FOR THEIR TRAINING PROGRAM.

THIS FALL, THEY ARE ANTICIPATING 500 FRESHMAN AND 500 SOPHOMORES.

THIS WOULD BUILD TO CAPACITY OF 2,000 STUDENTS WE ARE ALREADY INTEGRATED AND GIVEN THE LEADERSHIP TO THAT GROUP.

THAT WOULD BE PROVOST AS WELL AS ANNA MAYS AND DR. FRANKED FLANDERS.

MISD VERY APPRECIATIVE OF THIS WORK.

DESPITE ALL THE POSITIVE CHANGES EVEN WITH THE GROWTH OF THE HIGH SCHOOLS OF MESQUITE THAT FEED INTO BALCH SPRINGS.

MISD SAFE LANDING PROGRAM AND OPENING DOOR PROGRAM, THESE TWO PROGRAMS LOOK AT HIGH RISK STUDENTS.

THESE ARE STUDENTS THAT DON'T FEEL THEY CAN COME BACK TO HIGH SCHOOL AND GET THE SUPPORT BUT WE ARE HAVING PATHWAYS OF SUPPORT TO NOT ONLY HELP THESE STUDENTS GET THROUGH HIGH SCHOOL, BUT ALSO UNDERSTAND THEY CAN ATTEND COLLEGE.

THEY HAVE HIGH FOOD INSECURITY NEEDS.

VICE CHANCELLOR WILKINS AND JOSEPH ATTENDED MEETINGS WITH ME AND ALREADY MADE PLANS HOW WE COULD CASE MANAGE SOME OF THIS EFFORT.

WE HAVE ALREADY GIVEN SEVERAL WORKSHOPS FASFA WORKSHOPS AND OTHERS.

OVER THIS NEXT YEAR, HOPE TO SERVE 250 STUDENTS.

GOOD THING ABOUT THIS WORK, THIS IS ONLY ONE OF THE MISD HIGH SCHOOLS AND IS -- WE ANTICIPATE SERVING 500-600 OF THESE STUDENTS.

FINALLY FOCUSSING ON MY WORK IN THE COMMUNITY COLLABORATION AND ENGAGEMENT, IT IS IMPORTANT WE INSURE ALL COMMUNITY LEADERS ESPECIALLY IN THE AREA I AM WORKING IN, EAST DALLAS COUNTY THERE IS A PLATFORM OF SOLVING PROBLEMS OF COMMON CONCERN BY CREATING ADVISORY COUNCIL.

THIS WILL ADDRESS A LOT OF THESE ISSUES BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT ONLY ISSUES IN ONE AREA, CROSS FUNCTIONAL ISSUES THAT CAN IMPACT MANY OF OUR PARTNERS.

WE ARE PLEASED AT LOOKING FORWARD TO THAT COLLABORATIVE IN SEPTEMBER.

THIS WORK CONTINUES.

JUST TO LET STUDENTS KNOW THERE IS A PATHWAY.

THERE ARE RESOURCES AND PEOPLE AVAILABLE TO HELP THEM IS WHAT IS SO INSPIRING ABOUT THE SAFE LANDING AND OPENING DOORS WORK WE ARE DOING.

ALSO WITH THE BALCH SPRINGS PARTNERS TO HAVE THE CROSS CITY COLLABORATIVE SO NICE TO SEE.

THIS PAST YEAR, WE HAD OUR FIRST CONVENING WITH THE CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE FOR MESQUITE, BALCH SPRINGS, SUNNYVALE AND SOUTHEAST DALLAS CHAMBER OF COMMERCE.

THIS IS THE TYPE OF CONVENING WE HOPE TO GAIN FROM THE WORK WE ARE DOING.
