LET ME START BY THANKING YOU FOR ALL THE WORK AND SUPPORT YOU HAVE PROVIDED OUR STUDENTS DURING THIS VERY TRYING TIMES.

WE HAVE RECEIVED SEVERAL VERY VALID QUESTIONS ASKING ABOUT THE STUDENT SUCCESS STRUCTURE.

AS YOU KNOW, THE RESTRUCTURING OF THE STUDENT EXPERIENCE IS THE CORNERSTONE OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF DALLAS COLLEGE.

AS SUCH, WE ARE BEING VERY DELIBERATE IN REDESIGNING THE STUDENT EXPERIENCE AND THE STRUCTURE TO SUPPORT IT.

WE ARE WORKING DILIGENTLY TO FINALIZE THE DETAILS AND AS SOON AS THAT'S DONE, WE WILL MAKE IT PUBLIC AND POST POSITIONS.

AS YOU WILL KNOW, ENROLLMENT IS DOWN THIS FALL, BUT MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE NUMBERS ARE THE PEOPLE, EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THOSE STUDENTS WHO ARE BEING LEFT BEHIND, THE IMPACT ON THEIR LIVES AND THOSE OF THEIR FAMILIES IS IMMENSE.

I WANT IT TO TAKE A MOMENT TO TO REMEMBER TO REMIND US ALL WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO AND WE HAVE PUT A LITTLE VIDEO TOGETHER TO TO SHARE THAT WITH YOU.

WE NEED VERY CLEAR PROCESSES AND REQUIREMENTS.

I KEEP HEARING ABOUT ONE CAMPUS ASKING FOR ONE THING AND ON A DIFFERENT CAMPUS ASKING FOR SOMETHING DIFFERENT AND THAT ALL IT DOES IS, IS CREATE UNNECESSARY BARRIERS FOR STUDENTS.

THERE IS A TSI WAIVER IN PLACE, BUT WE STILL HAVE STAFF THAT ASK STUDENTS FOR TSI.

AND THAT, QUITE FRANKLY, CAN NOT CONTINUE.

WE NEED TO WORK TOGETHER.

WE NEED TO HOLD ONE ANOTHER ACCOUNTABLE AND HELP EACH OTHER GET THINGS DONE.

AND ONE OF THE THINGS I WANTED TO DO THIS MORNING, JUST VERY BRIEFLY, IS JUST REFLECT BACK ON THE ROLES THAT I'VE HAD COMING TO THIS POINT AS YOUR ASSOCIATE VICE CHANCELLOR FOR ENROLLMENT MANAGEMENT.

IT'S BEEN MY PLEASURE TO SERVE IN ALL THREE SECTORS K-12, COMMUNITY COLLEGE AND UNIVERSITY SETTINGS OVER THE LAST TWO DECADES OR SO.

ONE OF MY MOST TREASURED EXPERIENCES WAS SERVING AS A GROUP DIRECTOR FOR THE AREA SCHOOLS.

I DID THAT FOR APPROXIMATELY SEVEN YEARS, BUT NOW MORE THAN EVER, ONE OF THE THINGS THAT I REFLECT BACK ON WHEN I WORKED WITH GEAR UP WAS THE FACT THAT THROUGH GEAR UP I WAS ABLE TO SEE A FINISHED PRODUCT.

AND ONE OF THE THINGS I WANT TO EMPLOY UPON US AS A GROUP AND A TEAM IS THAT WHILE WE NEVER GET TO SEE THAT, WE ARE ADVOCATES FOR THAT, FOR WHAT WE'RE DOING IN OUR STUDENTS LIVES AND THEIR FAMILY'S LIVES.

AND WE HAVE TO REMEMBER THAT AT SOME POINT WE MIGHT JUST SOMEWHERE DOWN THE YEAR GET TO SEE A FINISHED PRODUCT THAT IS GOING TO TAKE SOME TIME.

SO MANY OF YOU KNOW THAT MY HIGHER EDUCATION BEGAN [INAUDIBLE] RECRUITMENT ONE OF THE THINGS I LOVE MOST ABOUT OUTREACH AND RECRUITMENT IS THE WAY THAT WE HAVE AN INFLUENCE ON IMPACTING LIFE DECISIONS.

SO WHILE I'M UNABLE TO WORK AS CLOSELY AS I COULD ONCE BEFORE WITH STUDENTS, I

BEFORE I GO ON TO KEY PRIORITY ITEMS, I WOULD LIKE TO ACKNOWLEDGE A TRANSITION PLANNING AND PROGRAMMING QUESTIONS THAT WERE SUBMITTED FOR THE TOWN HALL MANAGEMENT.

SOME OF THE SPECIFIC AREAS COVERED WERE ADMISSIONS, REGISTRAR, TRANSCRIPT DEGREE AUDIT AND TESTING ITEMS. DISCUSSIONS ARE ONGOING REGARDING THE FUTURE OF COMMENCEMENT CEREMONIES.

THROUGH YOUR EFFORTS AND DILIGENCE WE CARRIED OUT A MULTITUDE OF EFFORTS HAPPENING CROSS FUNCTIONALLY FOR OUR STUDENTS AMONGST ADMINISTRATORS AND STAFF AND FACULTY MEMBERS.

WHAT I WANT TO DRAW PARTICULAR ATTENTION TO IS THE THREE-STEP PROCESS.

PLEASE, PLEASE BE MINDFUL OF THIS THREE-STEP PROCESS.

WE'VE DONE EVERYTHING WE CAN OVER THE LAST FEW MONTHS AS IT RELATES TO SERVING STUDENTS IN THE PANDEMIC TO SIMPLIFY THE PROCESS FOR STUDENTS AND HAVE A SEAMLESS TRANSITION INTO OUR INSTITUTION.

WE WANT TO BE MIND OF THE FACT THERE ARE SOME THINGS WE HAVE TEMPORARILY PUT ON PAUSE, THINGS WE TYPICALLY DO FACE-TO-FACE.

IN THE THREE-STEP PROCESS I'LL REMIND YOU PLEASE TO REMEMBER AGAIN DR. JOSEPH USES THE EXAMPLE EARLIER, THERE IS NO NEED TO FOCUS ON TESTING SERVICES AT THIS TIME.

THE WAY RISKS ARE IN PLACE, IT WILL REMAIN IN PLACE TOWARDS THE END OF SPRING.

THERE'S NO NEED TO FOCUS ON ORIENTATION.

WE'RE REDEVELOPING PROCESS.

CHOICES 360 HAS BEEN A CONSTANT CONVERSATION IN TERMS OF THE ASSESSMENT.

FOR NOW, CHOICES 360 WILL REMAIN ON PAUSE AS WE EXAMINE WAYS TO IMPLEMENT IT IN THE FUTURE.

THERE'S A MASTER PLAN MAKING ITS WAY AS IT RELATES TO RECRUITMENT AND RETENTION COMMUNICATION.

THERE'S A LOT OF WORK DONE WITH MARKETING IN CONJUNCTION WITH OUR NEW TEAM LEADS AND LEADERSHIP IN MARKETING TO DEVELOP COMMUNICATIONS AS IT RELATES TO GETTING STUDENTS THROUGH REGISTRATION AND ENROLLED.

THE OTHER PRIORITY ITEMS TAKING PLACE, AND THANKS TO THE LEADERSHIP TEAM MEMBERS ARE ONE, APPLY TEXAS.

APPLY TEXAS AND APPLY TEXAS TASK FORCE IS FOCUSED ON AN APPLICATION PROCESS AS WELL AS MAKING SURE WE PACKAGING.

ANOTHER PRIORITY ITEM IS THE ADMINISTRATION RETENTION PROCESS.

THIS IS GOING TO BE WHAT WAS KNOWN AS DEREG.

IT'S LOOKING AT THE CROSS DIVISIONAL WORK TO CONTINUE REDEVELOPMENT TO RETAIN STUDENTS AND PROVIDE RECOMMENDATIONS TO BE ABLE TO HAVE A PROCESS THAT NO LONGER IS LOOKING AT DROPPING STUDENTS MULTIPLE TIMES AS MUCH AS LOOKING AT MITIGATING THE NUMBER OF TIMES WE DROP STUDENTS AND FACILITATING THEIR ABILITY

TO TAKE ON THEIR PRIME COURSES AND PROVIDING PAYMENT SERVICES OPTIONS WHERE STUDENTS NEED THAT HELP.

IN ADDITION, CASE MANAGEMENT, OUR FINANCIAL AID TEAMS ARE WORKING HARD TO PROVIDE A MORE KEMP HEN SIEVE APPROACH TO CASE MANAGEMENT AS IT RELATES TO FINANCIAL AID, FILLING OUT FAFSA AND ITEMS THAT HAVE TO DO WITH THE EMERGENCY FUNDING TO CONTINUE TO REMOVE BARRIERS SO STUDENTS CAN GET INTO CLASSES SUCCESSFULLY.

LASTLY BUT NOT LEAST, FOR SUMMER AND FALL REGISTRATION, OPERATIONS AND PLANNING, EVEN THOUGH WE'RE FOCUSED ON SPRING REGISTRATION, SUMMER AND FALL REGISTRATION PLANNING IS IN FULL SWING.

I STARTED AS -- IT WASN'T EVEN ADD MINUTE ASSISTANT, THE TITLE WAS JUST ASSISTANT.

FOR THOSE THAT KNEW FAYLA, SHE WAS THE STUDENTS AT EL CENTRAL AND SHE HIRED ME TO HELP HER IN CARRYING OUT THE STUDENT SERVICES WORK THERE.

OVER TIME, I CERTAINLY HAVE HAD MANY OPPORTUNITIES TO GROW, TO LEARN, AND TO TRY TO, YOU KNOW, STEP OUTSIDE OF MY OWN COMFORT ZONE AT DIFFERENT MOMENTS IN MY OWN LIFE.

I FINISHED BOTH MY -- I FINISHED MY MASTER'S DEGREE WHILE WORKING AT EL CENTRAL WITH KIDS AT HOME AND IN TOW.

AS A SINGLE PARENT FOR A GOOD PORTION OF THAT TIME SO I SHARE THOSE THINGS WITH YOU SO YOU CAN GET TO KNOW YOUR LEADERSHIP IN A REAL WAY AND WE WANT YOU TO KNOW THAT WE ARE HUMAN AND HAVE SHARED EXPERIENCES WITH MANY OF YOU AS WE DO WITH MANY OF OUR STUDENTS.

JUST REAL BRIEFLY, OUTSIDE OF THAT TIME OF WORKING AS AN ASSISTANT, I WORKED WITH RISING STAR, WITH TRIO STUDENT SUPPORT SERVICES, WITH TITLE 5, I'VE WORKED WITH ALMOST EVERY STUDENT SERVICE AREA THAT EXISTS ON A CAMPUS WHETHER BY SUPPORT, LEADING, OR AS DOCTOR PIERCE MENTIONED, BOOTS ON THE GROUND.

I SERVED AS AN OUTREACH SPECIALIST DOING RECRUITMENT IN THE DFW COMMUNITY FOR YEARS SO WE KNOW HOW CRITICAL IT IS TO CONNECT WITH WHO WE SERVE AND HAVE A REAL SENSE WHY WE DO THIS WORK.

I JUSTS WANT TO SHARE THAT FOR THOSE THAT DON'T KNOW ME AND TO ENCOURAGE THOSE OF YOU THAT HAVE ASPIRATIONS TO GROW THAT THIS IS AN IDEAL CLIMATE, RIGHT? WHERE THE OPPORTUNITIES TO STEP OUT AND TO TRY TO PUT YOUR SKILLS WHERE IT COUNTS.

OUR CRITICAL RESPONSE OFFICE AND THE DIRECTION AND LEADERSHIP THAT DR. MAY AND OTHERS HAVE ALREADY CONVEYED REGARDING RETURNING BACK TO WORK REMOTELY.

I WANT TO MAKE SURE -- BECAUSE I KNOW WE RECEIVED LOTS OF EMAILS -- THAT YOU GO BACK AND REFER TO YOUR EMAILS SENT FROM SHERRY ENWRIGHT, OUR HR LEADER ON NOVEMBER 11, AND A LOT OF THE COMMENTS I'M GOING TO MAKE DRAW FROM THAT COMMUNICATION SO THAT YOU CAN HAVE IT AS A REFERENCE POINT.
